Atmosphere Thread | 2025/26

Hated how empty the stadium was in the last five minutes.

Leaving a game early in tens of thousands is the sign of a fanbase disgusted with the team’s performance. Yet that was our best performance of the season.

Also, the players and Pep are making a point of doing a lap of honour after the game to thank the fans, yet there may only have been 7k or so left when they did it yesterday. I bet they’re wondering why they’re bothering.
Yeah…you’re absolutely spot on pal…it’s a terrible look,EMBARRASSING

You mean the family stand that is full of kids? seems a odd choice to single out for a lack of noise?
It’s a mixed bag in there not just kids, you can barely call it family stand these days Couple of seasons ago the atmosphere in there wasn’t too bad but it’s dog sh1te now. I single it out coz i’m in there and it’s full of can’t be arsed too lame to sing boring dullard types.

Doesn’t help when large chunks of the second tier in three stands have decided that their half time brew and biscuits are more important than watching the game. Until they sort the transport away from the stadium and a quicker way to exit the stadium from the third tiers then thousands will continue to leave from 80 mins onwards.

As for the singing section does it actually exist any longer. South stand bottom tier also empties from 80th minute.
Really strange to see this “can’t be bothered attitude” They pay good money to watch a game and end up missing a chunk of the game. It makes sense that it’s most likely the older generation doing this. They’ve seen us win it all and they’re happy with that. There’s no excitement for them no matter how well we’re playing. They’re just there out of habit and bit of social with their mates.

What a terribly sanitised chant, symptomatic of the lack of hostility in football atmospheres nowadays. Counterproductive too, I’m sure that **** got a buzz out of hearing thousands of people sing his name

What happened to the “referee’s a wanker”
You’ll be pleased to know a few of us resurrected the George Courtney chant from 1991.

I also gave a rendition of “Where’s your father, where’s your father, where’s your father referee?….” going. Shame it was lost on some of the young pups and some of the older ones who should’ve known better and joined in!

I can only presume the players thought it was for remembrance as other clubs have done there's this week.
Logic would say that the game where shirts have the poppy on should be the Remembrance Last Post home game.

Why both teams wore them on Sunday rather than next week is anybodies guess, maybe teams need to have one on their shirts for one home & one away game for some reason but this season it's double header homes or aways.

Might end up with some teams having a minutes silence around 22/11...

Was weird pre kick off, there seemed to be a few songs building but then both sets of players went to the centre circle looking like it was going to be a minutes silence or something , even the big screens went black although bizarrely blue moon was still played but to no reaction and then they all just ran off as if the plan had changed, the whole stadium seemed confused and was silent after that.
I could have sworn I read something from the club last week that they were going to do something for Remembrance Day before the Bournemouth game and I even went to buy a poppy for it. It was definitely a mix up as there was no need to wear the poppy kit as both teams play next Sunday too.

The singing section of SSL0 is arguably the worst part of the stadium (that isn’t hospitality) for being sparsely filled at kick offs at the start of the game and at the start of the second half.

I used to take pictures+videos of SSL0 to capture them waving the flags and any displays they put on, pre-game. I used to moan that the hospitality section above them on Level 2 now Level 1 was often empty and ruined the picture/video. Now I don’t bother full stop because SSL0 is often sparsely populated until after the game has kicked off, never mind when the flag and displays are going on before kick off.

And where it used to be the best part of the stadium for fans staying until the end, it’s the same as anywhere else now.

Must be the only singing section anywhere which is like that.

I feel sorry for singers, those who always get in their spaces in good time and stay to the end, and those in 1894 who organise the flags and displays and try and make it a singing section, in SSL0. They obviously aren’t the problem but they're made to look bad, or the section as whole is, by other fans who aren’t proper singing section fans but do have tickets in the singing section.

How many have we got in the singing block in SSL2 tomorrow night? Not seen any chat about it at all on here.

Haven’t the 1894 lads been trying for years with various initiatives to get like minded fans in that section ?

Fwiw I think Soriano and his fucking goons don’t want a singing section. They think large groups of predominantly young men singing loudly and passionately will deter happy smiley families and other tourists from attending. I’ve seen many complaints on here about heavy handed stewarding in that area which is undoubtedly at the behest of the club. The more they sanitise that area and deter proper blues from creating the atmosphere they want, the more extortionately priced seats they free up for tourists.

Add that situation to the total lack of interest in creating a blue wall in the new white elephant stand and it’s not much of a stretch to think that a loud, hostile atmosphere isn’t something that the cunts in the boardroom are in favour of.

Even though the boardroom aren’t pushing the new expanded NSL1 to be a big atmosphere stand, I do think SSL0 has runs its course as our singing section now and it’s time for everyone (apart from those who want banter with away fans) to leave SSL0 behind and commandeer the new expanded NSL1 for ourselves and have frustrated singers from around the ground also join them in the first proper big stand we’ve had since 1994.

Sod what the boardroom want. We can still make it happen.

With social media it would be easy for the various fan groups to organise it, i know prices haven't been released yet but just put the feelers out ?

The fan groups aren't making it happen. If we aren't careful this opportunity will be lost forever. It can happen without them if the club push it. All it would take is vocal fans in the railed seats at the back.

Don’t hate these they look cool and all but surely a simple lights off blue moon would be better get people in the ground singing early doors more chance of making it a better atmosphere in the game

Absolutely embarrassing.

Empty seats galore in the North Stand and loads more fuckin’ off for their pints 10 mins before half-time. We must be the ONLY club in the CL who does this?

Dortmund fans non-stop singing are the only ones you can hear.

I think back to days at Maine Road and blues who have passed away will be turning in their graves at how shite our support is now, despite watching this wonderful side?

I’m an old cnut now admittedly, but it’s pitiful.

German fans are on another lvl for sure.

It is awful. Everyone says this every game and it never gets any better. No seats available to buy every match and yet hundreds of empty seats. People getting there at the 5th minute, leaving at the 40th, coming back at the 50th and leaving at the 80th, almost half the game.

Only one stand ever sings when they can be arsed. Look at these Dortmund fans even though they're 3-0 down! Stadium has about 30,000 people in it by the full time whistle for us.

Lucky our away atmosphere is good otherwise we would be the laughing stock of the league.
