Atmosphere Thread | 2025/26

Sun in our eyes for 25 minutes made it hard to see lol.
Loads of youngsters near us just enjoying seeing the best team in the land and all the world for the first time I suspect.. I also suspect most of them have never been to Manchester, including my grandson who was with me at his first City game.. I’ve got a sore throat from singing , but there won’t have been many near me that will .. And I agree with an earlier poster, if it wasn’t for them there would have been more empty seats..
But I tell you what, we bloody had a great day out .. CTID

Was in level one safe standing, thought our end was a bit muted first half but second half it was a lot better than I expected - given the dynamic of our crowd, I would say 80% of the regulars I know couldn’t be arsed, I thought it was a decent effort

Watching it back on the telly we seem a mixed bunch of all colours & creeds.

The other end seemed almost a white only crowd.
Because those in the other end had a 160 mile round trip compared to a 420 mile round trip, haven't been to Wembley almost thirty times in 15 years, so were mainly their club's regular support.
We were expected to win so many saved their cash for the final (having shelled out for the League cup a few weeks ago) or just couldn't be arsed with another full day out for a late kick-off.

I’m pretty sure a large number of season ticket holders and fans who attended Arsenal didn’t go.

I know fans who attend most away games that didn’t go yesterday either.

My excuse was I couldn’t afford it. Is that not valid?

Of course that is a valid reason.

There has always been a majority of ST holders who never go to away games.

Hope you can get to the final.

As a non ST person I have to go through the beg, steal , borrow 3 weeks to secure my ticket, At least I have a hotel room -:)

Must have hit lucky yesterday, it was relatively sparse where we were but there was half a dozen Norwegians behind us, knew all the songs and were properly in to it. Had a bit of thing for the Johnny Stones song, maybe in tribute to EB! No issue at all with fans like that.

I didn’t go.

But the West end of Wembley is horrendous.

For some reason the atmosphere struggles to get going not only for City fans, but for other fans as well at the end of Wembley. The sun, heat, and views from there are unbearable on a hot and sunny day.

Most people I know now refuse to go to the semifinals.

I know one lad who went everywhere for decades who refused to go to the United semi in 2011 because he said they shouldn’t be at Wembley. People thought he was mad at the time… but ever since it’s grown and grown and I know very few who go to them now.

I went on my own yesterday.

It was hard getting songs to spread in the Level 5 Safe Standing. I noticed home and away Blues in the seats just below (upper tier) who just sat there topping up their tans.

I thought level 1 behind the goal, safe standing and the lower bit, was decent, especially second half. First half that yellow thing in the sky was a bit of a ****

They were sat down in the level 5 safe standing next to me. Thought at one point the bloke behind was going to ask me to sit down too. But at least they went… atmosphere picked up second half, along with the boys on the pitch.

Perhaps "Sun", could be used for those looking for a new excuse.

"Not going to the final, we have the "Sunny" end and it's too hot"

I remember first game of the season a few years ago. It was boilio , sat in full sun in the East Stand, there were two young mexicans sat next to me, they asked if it was always this hot in Manchester ? Of course I replied , always , famous for its weather is Manchester.

Was it that Bournemouth game? Took me two days to recover from the heat in that game. Hottest I’ve ever been at a football match.

Proper sun trap on Level 0 at the Etihad, below ground level, no breeze gets in… that game needed the club to spray fans with water cannons like they do in Greece. It was fucking redders!

Was fine yesterday I thought. Chilled atmosphere, had a lot of good chats with people on the concourse. Think there was an expectation we’d just get it done to be honest
