Sorry but on point 7 this has been done to death on here over the past 15 months and it’s getting tedious us having to repeat ourselves over and over again. If 1894 don’t understand then how come we took part in extensive discussions with the club regarding the new North Stand and how to maximise the atmosphere there?1. CITY need one end.
2. No other big club shares their home end with away fans.
3. No other club has more away fans in the so called home end for cup matches.
4. There will be approx. 7,000 new seats / standing seats in the extended North Stand. Fans can move to those without impacting on any existing fans.
5. The North Stand is a golden opportunity that should be welcomed - 3000 safe standing and a large central core of general admision seats. An entire CITY end.
6. The South Stand has now been proven to not work well as an atmosphere stand. It never will due to the configurations, split of home fans, too small lower level (now level 0) and domination of singing away fans particularly in cup matches and CL games.
7. Why 1894 can not understand this seems bizarre.
8.Somehow a relatively simple and clear matter has become over complicated and unecessarily divisive.
Also, what makes people think that all or most of the singers in the South Stand are going to up sticks and move to the North Stand? Regardless of what issues there are in the South Stand, most fans are happy staying put regardless of 1894’s position. After all, many fans in the South Stand aren’t members of 1894. Unless the club make it attractive enough by pricing the tickets in the safe standing section of the new North Stand considerably cheaper than the South Stand, there will be no mass exodus.
It’s for these reasons that it’s better to focus more on those singers who aren’t in any of the traditional current singing areas, so anyone who isn’t currently in SS1, SS3, or Kippax Corner. There are plenty of singers dotted around in other areas of the ground who may well be interested in moving because they feel uneasy singing or starting off chants in quieter areas of the ground. By the way, the latest 1894 mailer contains a survey about possible relocations and one of the questions is below - it puts paid to the notion that 1894 aren’t doing anything to help fans move to the new North Stand and are only advocating for the South Stand:
“If 1894 can work with the club to move singers into different areas, would you like to relocate to help improve the atmosphere? (you can select multiple options)
Yes, I'd like to move to South Stand Lower (rail seating only)
Yes, I'd like to move to South Stand Level 3
Yes, I'd like to move to North Stand Level 2 (rail seating only)
No”
