Atmosphere Thread | 2025/26

Throughout the game today, the words ‘Ruben Amorim’ ‘Stretford End’ and ‘Reds’ were chanted more than the words ‘Manchester City’ ‘Manchester’ ‘City’ ‘Man City’ ‘Blues’ or any City player names.

Did it not occur to people after the second time nobody joined in with it, that most of us don’t want to chant a bobbins dreary chant about Ruben fucking Amorim over+over? Never mind the sixth/seventh time?

Giving it one airing towards the end of the game today would be quite funny, but this is not a staple Manchester City chant that needs singing every ten minutes.
First proper chant when the cheering died down after our third goal was about Amorim and his collection of gimps. Fucking ridiculous.

Early doors, it was the first, second and fourth chant of the game, and the first chant after our first and third goals. And it was sung a few more times other than that n’all.

Shyyyiiite!

After the players came out they decided to turn the PA off for 20 seconds or so. It was silent for most of it.

However, SSL3 started singing best team in the land and all the world and it felt like the rest of the stadium was about to join in. Unfortunately they decided to chose this exact moment to blast Bluemoon down the speakers

Apart from that, I agree that it was pretty poor today, and the song selection needs some work. We'll be back

Exactly what happened. That moment defined the atmosphere for the rest of the game.

Early leavers missed two goals today, haha love it when they miss goals!

But at least they got home in time for tea and Strictly.
I’m usually being told to fuck off home by stewards who can’t wait to get us out …..the red cunts

Ha yes I knew two rags who drank in Didsbury who used to be stewards at our games. They were okay lads for rags but they shit themselves when I first saw them "Don't let on we support United mate" lol.

Fsir play to Burnley by the way, probably the loudest ive heard them at our place for a league game.

As mentioned above, The lap of appreciation by the players now is a nice touch, more people should stay and show their appreciation back. However the fucking stewards need telling, wankers are trying to usher everybody out (and are actually potentially causing dangerous surges/crushes on thr stairs in the process) whilst the players are literally walking around applauding the crowd. Morons doesnt even cut it.

Some dick tried to tell me to go today when pep was stood 10-15 yards away clapping us. where he wanted me to go when the aisle was still full and the stairs were packed I've no idea, I asked him this and his response was for me to tell them to move. Told him that was his job and then sat down to clap pep and the players and deliberately took longer than I would have to move.

I always stay until the end, I then clap the players off and will wait for a few minutes at my seat for the crowd to clear a bit as I dont want to get stuck in the crowd as I've got knee issues and it doesnt get me out any quicker anyway. I've done this for many years, the regular stewards around me know im not going to be a dick and i'll go just as soon as there's a clear pathway on to the concourse but the new stewards, or at least the new ones to my area, seem to want to physically push us out the very second the whistle goes.

There's going to be a problem very soon if the wankers continue, somebody, perhaps someone who has had a few or maybe someone after a disappointing loss is not going to take kindly to them almost trying to physically escort you out sooner or later if they persist like this, I guarantee it.

Yeah I had this attitude today . Telling me it’s time to go ….. match highlights on screen but fuck off we don’t want you here now. Pep would be livid I’m sure if it .

At least i know i wasn't just unlucky with getting the most incompetent stewards.

Would be interesting to see where we stand in the terms and conditions with regards to exiting. I dont think we are under any obligation to immediately leave our seats at the whistle. The players are walking around the pitch, as you mention, the highlights are on the screens for us to watch, the bars stay open too albeit thats in the concourse. They clearly design the experience around not having to instantly fuck off at the whistle yet the stewards actions are in direct contrast to the club.

If they leave me be, I'll continue to leave the very second I have a clear exit and be absolutely no bother but if theres a repeat of this shit next game, I'm going to wait far longer than I otherwise would just to make a point, it annoyed me enough for me to be that petty in retaliation.

The easy answer is if you don't like it start something else off.

If not in a singing area then relocate to it.

It's football, it's a song, it's taking the piss.

We won’t have a decent atmosphere until the pick and choose your songs merchants realise they aren’t cool.

There’s a reason the Amorin song keeps getting sung. Enough Bkues join in to make it heard.

We need the Edin Dzeko song back, like at Huddersfield.
