We a

We aren't in a position to criticise the type of noise some fans make when we make none, fucking boring? Which set of.players do you think felt most backed tonight?, Dortmund with the "boring" chants or City backed by silence???
City backed by fans who were watching them play football, rather than a bunch of people there for their own sake not watching a single second of the game who barely cheered their goal because most didn’t even know there was a football game going on never mind that their supposed team had scored.

Mate the home stands where silent you can't walk away from that game and think the city players would be happier with their fans than Dortmund.

We were shite tonight in the stands throughout the game but at least our players will have at least known we appreciated the good play and goals which we did actually celebrate. At least we were there for our team and not our own sake.

All these Ultras from various clubs might as well stay in Piccadilly Gardens for a sing song isntead of coming to the game for all the notice they pay to their teams.

They don’t get excited about attacks, corners, shots, chances and only about a third of them cheered their goal, the rest barely noticed they’d scored.

Give me a good English atmosphere where the noise represents what’s going on on the pitch over our silence tonight and over their non-watching of the game while droning on with boring monotonous chants, any day.

If ever there was a perfect example of why the north stand is MCFC’s only chance to have a decent match day atmosphere it was tonight.

The singing areas aren’t big enough to compete with a noisy and united away end and the rest of the stadium gives up after a while.

We have one chance to rectify this. One.
Nail on the head once again Dave, unfortunately our only fan group have thrown all their toys out the pram in regards to this new stand and are just happy with our mediocre south stand which, as you say, can't compete.

The traffic was absolutely horrendous before the game, particularly around kingsway, so I actually missed the first five minutes.

It was very difficult to compete with their fans and the drums, as you literally couldn’t hear other sections of the ground. As above it really does show how desperate we are for our own home end. The south stand is to small and not joined up at all.

Fair play to the 1894 group for trying the singing section at the front of ss3. More people did try and join in. However I don’t think it worked as well, as I don’t think enough people knew about it. It should have been advertised as a standing/ singing section by the club.

Let’s be honest, it’s very, very hard to create an atmosphere against a German team, with their style of non-stop singing and clapping, especially when they have a big fuck off drum and two megaphones.
It can be done. We just need the right settings - ticket prices, scale of the game… We did it when we played Hamburg for example.

They're not even watching the game half the time, the bouncing and scarf twirling bears no relation to the game. All a bit weird tbh.
I agree, they were certainly very noisy. as was the drum, but their reaction to the goal was bizarre it barely registered. It's really just a noisy terrestrial version of synchronised swimming.

Organized support is just different to our support, comparison doesn't make sense. IMO

Thanks anyway for "taking cockneys apart again"
later in the game :))

Spot on!

Tonight was the epitome why the South Stand has run its course as the singing end.

If the 2-3000 fans spread around those away fans had been together at the opposite side of the ground it would have been a memorable atmosphere tonight. The rest of the stadium would have responded to its lead. It’s simple crowd psychology.

I find the orchestrated singing and clapping pretty irritating. Most of them didn’t even notice when they scored because they were in the middle of a routine.
