Sadly mate I don’t think they will ever regret it. They are completely entrenched in the view that us ‘legacy fans’ are at the very bottom of the food chain.

If anything those of us who haven’t sacked it off yet are an inconvenience because Soriano and his mates would much prefer our seats be occupied by a tourist who spends £250 in the club shop, films the entire match on their iPad, and doesn’t even care who wins.
They will, because our entire business model relies on bringing in tourists due to the success on the pitch.

10 years from now we could be playing games in the europa conference league, have no 'Haaland Factor', and the club might just wish they'd treated their 'legacy fans' a little bit better.

Anyway we'll see mate, I really shudder to think what the attendance might have been last night if there were no tourists

It's only going to get worse I think. Seems more and more "regulars" are ditching the CL games. I binned them off after maybe 3 seasons of us being in it, been to a handful since and every year more of my mates jack it in. Just too much football nowadays and especially midweek games (Think in the new year we have 3 league games in midweek, what's that about) the champions league is the obvious one to cull.

I agree. I don’t know many season ticket holders who are attending these games now. There picking and choosing games to attend, if they do.

The problem is the club have alienated a lot of long standing fans who don’t have season tickets. People who maybe got priced out. Those fans from what I can see are attending the cup games - where there are barely any tourists.

The club wants a ground full of tourists and casual fans and it’s got that for the champions league games. Maybe pep and the players should realise that too when there turning to the crowd for noise

The galatasry game could end up being like a home match for them

I thought the Leverkusen fans were great tonight.

Clever use of the drum, different drumming to different chants, pauses in-between the chants, so the chants weren’t monotonous, and a good variety of fast, slow, and shouting chants. The Capo definitely needs a new megaphone. The megaphone he had kept on failing.
It’s absolutely mind numbing, monotonous fucking shite.

As opposed to total and utter silence.

Given the choice, out of those two scenarios, I know which one I would have.

How can it be monotonous when it's different chants?

You mean the drumming was monotonous?

Different chants can't be monotonous.

Neither can singing for 90 minutes as City sometimes do at away games, which everyone raves about on this thread. ' Fantastic away support today'. 'We did stop singing for 90 minutes'. 'We've got one of the best away supports in the PL'.

They even starting singing in English to the City fans, taking the piss, during the fire drill with 5 minutes to go.

You do you and I’ll do me… it’s fucking bollocks and irritating.

All PL clubs make exceptions for the Ultras on Police advice.

I was filming the Ultras stood still and chanting before they were escorted to the away end.

A Police officer came over and told me they don't like being filmed, and to watch my mobile, as it might get snatched as the Ultras passed me by.

The City Souvenir store was doing a roaring trade in half-and-half scarfs last night. There was a stand alone table not far from the doors, with a shop assistant taking payment at the table.

City know their market for CL matches. And City are cashing in. Better the money goes to the club instead of to the half-and-half scarf Hawkers around the perimeter of the Etihad Campus.

Let's be honest we've completed the journey from the fans club to a corporate sterile club. It's taken a few years and we've fought back as much as possible but I'm afraid it will get much worse before it gets any better.
