I honestly think they just don’t care enough to do these good suggestions though. What’s obvious to me is that a lot of fans are stopping attending because of the lack of atmosphere. Branding the new stand as “The New Kippax, pushing it hard as an atmosphere end and offering very cheap tickets would pay for itself with an upturn in demand.
Half price season tickets for anyone in the existing safe standing areas to relocate would be a good starting point. Some sort of reassurance that ticket prices will never exceed the south stand. Work down the loyalty points if necessary but some sort of system where groups can move would be even better. Use it as a loss leader. They can sell the seats made available through this however they want but the new stand should be in effect reserved for working class old school fans. When we moved to the Etihad we added 15,000 to the gate immediately. The same happened with West Ham, spurs and Everton more recently.
It can be done but they need to get their arses in gear.
Why bother with all that when there’s an endless number of humans who would like to tick ‘watch a premier league match’ off their bucket list (and pay handsomely for the privilege)?
