Atmosphere Thread | 2025/26

There really are some negative people on here.

For a 7:30 January Wednesday night game against Brighton, the atmosphere was absolutely fine today. Plenty of songs went round the ground. It was never going to be like a derby.

I know people are in a bad mood because of the result, and the ticket prices for tonight were stupid, but the atmosphere was fine.
If you think the atmosphere was “fine”……..then I seriously have to get my ears tested…..it was bleeding shocking, because 3 sides of the stadium don’t sing/chant,and the singing section in the south stand is fighting a losing battle, doesn’t help when the away fans are ALSO IN THE SOUTH STAND….get it sorted pleaseeeee Khaldoon……it’s an absolute terrible look and sound….

Khaldoon has sorted it.

He’s sorted a purpose built stand, conducive to atmosphere, a giant big tier that we’ve been crying out for as a club for decades, it’s staring us in the face… and our atmosphere group want to stay in a bobbins little effort of a tier in the away stand where we probably couldn’t have a worse set-up for atmosphere if we tried.

Villa park and the Emirates would have been packed and up for it last night. We're in the thick of a title race, don't know how because I don't think were a good side at the moment but we are. Very strange turnout/atmosphere from us the fans last night when the lads could have done with our support.

Just give people heads up if 1894 members don't want to move then feel free to set up your own group and get over there and prove 1894 wrong.

Empty seats everywhere, if the club doesn’t reverse the decision on swapping tickets it’s going to be embarrassing next season with that new stand.

They've pushed fans away for the tourist market and themselves fans aren't gonna rush back for Brighton and Burnley then get told we have nothing for you for bigger games , I welcome the empty seats, board need a bloody nose , I'm at the game so doesn't effect me.

Villa park had 100s of empties in the main stand upper when we visited

Totally agree, they reap what they sow, making your local fan base an after thought, deserve everything they get

What’s really going to help is taking season tickets off people who don’t meet the ten game personal attendance threshold even if they make sure their seat is taken by someone else.

Emirates has had empty seats this season. It’s not just us…

I am just reflecting on when the moaners nearly cost us a point last night, pressuring a rushed throw in behind Khusanov that almost presented Brighton with a sitter.

Credit to the Blues who were there and got behind the team. Shame we haven’t delivered the 12th man our players needed in these games thet are being decided by fine margins.

Course it's not just us but It wasn't a few last night though, don't even know how to put a figure on it, it was thousands. With a big new stand still to open, and probably the last season of our greatest ever manager.

I get it. I think some of the reasons have been covered many times over. However, here is another. We have a lot of fans now (season ticket holders included), who don’t or no longer live in Manchester. What is up with all these Wednesday night premier league games??? There are still two more to come!! Plus that rules a lot of younger fans out, not to mention Brighton fans last night. Also a kick off on a 5.30pm on a Sunday, when trains stop early or have bus replacement. It’s TV that’s killing the game as well as the other good points posters have made.

Really strange point this, considering 3 sides of the stadium are always silent. It's the same at most grounds in the world.

7:30 games in January against Cat B opponents have never been good, and I mean NEVER.

So if you went into yesterday realising the context of the situation you'll realise it was fine, however it's clear that you went into yesterday expecting it to be like a Boca Juniors vs River Plate game, in which case you'll be disappointed.
