Corporate...

At United or Liverpool you'd probably get away with it, as theyre a ton of plastics willing to take an opportunity to watch a team they've watched from their televisions for the last twenty years.

Not so with City, we currently just don't have the fan base. Probably will in twenty so years when kids become older and able to generate cash and we're massive overseas.

Otherwise we're just a bunch of Mancs, working every hour god sends, in a country that rips us off for almost everything it can.

Simply put, we just can't afford every game, regardless of the cup schemes.

Seems City have taken their eyes off the fans.

Maybe the chairman needs to be more aware and start getting more interested in the clubs finer points or get someone in who's more involved about loyal fans.

If the media sucked us off the last 10-15 years maybe we would have acquired more fans! The pure vile negativity narrative of our club through all media last ten years since CAS is the reason! Every positive we do it’s always followed up with a line of negativity 115 and those who made it 115 not 8/9 new what they were doing!

Didn’t look that bad on the tele at all, was expecting much worse. Those that are saying it was bad that were there - are we talking the upper tiers being empty?
yes upper tiers in south stand, colin bell and east stand were empty. think City took them tiers off sale to sell more on lower levels.

As far as I'm aware, there's not one director on the board with any experience in football; only marketing, promition, etc. They're businessmen pure and simple. Soriano knows very little about the game. That was Txiki's territory.

Soriano's job is to increase revenues and based on the recent publication of matchday revenue we're miles behind our competitors.

He's clearly decided to focus on maximising the amount of money and ignoring the number of people.

A sold out ground isn't his priority.

In my opinion he's miles off it in terms of what he's trying to do with us. He's looking to recreate what Barcelona had, what other top clubs around Europe do. But it won't work at City. Our fans are used to being able to get season tickets, to grab a match ticket on the day if we fancy going. We're not used to paying for a membership just to be able to access tickets. We've also not grown up with the foundation of games every few days or constant fluctuations in price from cheap FA Cup 3rd round to extortionate CL playoffs.

If you look at Barcelona, it's a tourist attraction. People will pay a fortune to go to a game whilst they're there. Arsenal have a huge fanbase and it's been incredibly difficult to get a ticket to a game let alone a season ticket. So they'll pay a membership just to enter a ballot to potentially get one.

You can't bring that system in at City unless you've built up the demand first and they've failed to do that.

We might play amazing football and we might have had unprecedented success but we have a fan base that has grown up having easy access to football and because of the lack of quality for such a long time were largely going for a few beers and the social side!

Cancel the memberships, bring in more consistent pricing, release more season tickets without silly penalties imposed on attendance and reduce the number being touted elsewhere. They've got to fill the ground if they want people to pay big bucks for hospitality etc. Who wants to go and watch a game in a ground with thousands of empty seats? Who is going to pay £150 to watch when they can get a matchday ticket for £50?

With the NS due to open, they need to seriously rethink things.

Don't agree with you that kids will come when they generate cash .
What City have created is a Xmas and birthday treat destination for kids .
They definitely won't spend their own money if City hasn't been drummed into them in a this is what we do at weekend son way .
Absolutely no point in making cheap tickets for Salford available, kid comes for first time gets the buzz ,can I come next match dad ?
Sorry it's £45 on a wednesday ,so no

Club must have something up their sleeve with regards to the new stand and putting bums on seats.
Another 8,000 to fill in addition to the 20,000 unfilled last night. That is frightening. I can’t get my head around how we’ve ended up in such a mess two and a half years after winning a treble. As we used to sing at Maine Road, “What the fuck is going on”?

Mid week games are mostly going to be locals.
The cost of attending and staying over have gone through the roof since covid. Pre covid we could do tickets ranging from 40quid to 60quid and 29quid Premier Inn. Premier Inn or anywhere is now well over a 100quid. In fact the last midweek game we stopped over nearly Birmingham as it was so much cheaper !
Ticket prices can be abit more expensive, but to get tickets for the big knockout stages nowadays you have to attend some 'lower' standard games to qualify. We simply can't afford to do this.

Its such a shame that the club have fucked this up so badly.

Years ago, bunch of kids at footy practice youd see 75% red shirts, now its the opposite. We had a golden ticket to secure and ensure the future support of our club.
But the club fucked it up

the new stand on a weekly prem league basis will be a total white elephant and id keep it moth balled until somebody comes up with a plan on how to fill it.
Dont let the guy in charge right now any where near it, hes ballsed it right up, showing his chubby cleavage to the tourists over locals.

Said it a few times, soriano has little respect for us lot.
Hes got one of his wish list ticked off with the etihad getting the group games in the euros, now he wants a champs league final, good for his ego n all that.

In the mean time he doesnt care that the ground is empty
@Bluesince1979 is right, the club seem more bothered about coming top of the rich list, this is why they are chasing tourist fans

We have massively mucked up with our ticketing, which is affecting our fanbase massively

We have so many resellers for tickets that this is causing so many issues.

PSR has a lot to do with this as well, because if we don't chase profit, then we cannot buy a player

We have a North Stand that they are building that going to turn into a white elephant

Our CEO has signed up the world's best striker for 10 years, as he thinks loads of fans are coming to see him only, like the Messi effect

We need to know who is making these decisions about tickets and the stadium, as the players need the 12th man, the fans and the atmpohere

Some issues need to be sorted out at the club, but how do we achieve this, as you email the club, and hear nothing back

The only way that we can sort out all these issues is demostrate like what happened last season, this will soon raise headlines

If we don't do this, then it's business as usual

@supercity88, you are so spot on. I just said a similar kind of thing

In terms of additional games i.e anything on top of our premier league home games we shot ourselves in the foot when they introduced Platinum .. We should have realised that saying no and sticking with gold meant that we would never catch up in terms of points… as a result we’ve scratched around for tickets for “important” games .. that will never change

So we’re the victims of a money making scheme by the club… in hindsight we should have paid the premium for enhanced points

This is a factor. We are not recruiting match going fans as we should. We have a poor image now for kids: the cheating, empty seats, no atmosphere, money club. It doesn’t play well on TikTok which is where these kids learn the ropes.

why aren't games like this getting a near full house? 35k attendance with roughly 4k Gala fans so just over 30k City there last night... how is it that we were getting the same when we were in division 2. The fan base should have grown and it feels like there's less and less each year despite our success. God help us when that new stand opens, you'd think City know what they're doing but I cannot understand why they're opening it atm and how it's gonna be filled

Not worried about our capacity going up to 61k because then big premier games will sell out the important knock out champs games will sell out! Some games the attendance will be low especially in midweek games! Everything for fans around a night game is also a reason.. it’s what it is! Barcelona had 44k last night..
