Atmosphere Thread | 2025/26

Pep.

Goal difference could count at the end if the season?

Seeing games out during the entire 2nd half isn’t going to improve our goal difference.

As for the empty seats, go and speak your mate Soriano.

Did i call out any individuals or even groups of people?
The thread is to discuss the atmosphere at the stadium. Last night it was shit.
It wasn’t great was it. There was a ten minute spell in the first half when it was decent, but it dropped off completely in the second half.

I think I was expecting it to get going after the goals, but it never happened.

After beating Liverpool and going 3 points within the league leaders as well. I know the second half, literally nothing happened, so that didn’t help.

I don't necessarily disagree with the energy saving tactics, but you're right that it dilutes the atmosphere, and in truth, probably encourages the early leavers.

I've thought the same thing, particularly against United on 3-4 previous occasions when the game is won, and we're scenting blood, only for Pep to make 3 substitutions.

6-3 being the obvious example, when at 4-0 we were looking at 7 or 8
We were 6-1 up as well in that one. I’m not going to moan about a 6-3 win against them twats but that was baffling in that it was early on in the season so it’s not like we were playing catch-up in the title race with the games running out like we are now. We should’ve kept our foot on United’s throat that day and ground them into the dust, inflicting the heaviest defeat in their history. Last night was different and understandable why we made so many changes. And with Guehi now on board, we seem to be managing games better.

Oh yeah I agree 100% with the game management.

However this is the atmosphere thread, and when we see the management clearly thinking of the next game, we can't really complain when some fans follow suit

We might have only scored three or four, instead of five, against CL greats Copenhagen a few days later had we really gone for it against the rags.

The myth that City fans can't hear SSL1 and blocks 110 & 111 from other parts of the ground is a myth, but maybe SSL3?

I was sat in CBL3 yesterday and I could clearly hear SSL1 and 110&11 even though there weren't that many singers compared to a PL game.

When the Salford Rags started singing, you cheating bastards, SSL1 didn't seem to react to it, so I'm guessing they didn't hear the chant?

When I'm in SSL1 I can't hear SSL3 singing.

I think it depends where you are in ss1. Against Newcastle I was in the middle/ kind of near the front of 015. All I could hear at the beginning was the Newcastle fans.

After half time I came down from the concourse and at the back you couldn’t hear the Newcastle fans at all, but there was a group of about 20 city fanssinging at the back - as soon as I walked down the stairs a bit, I could barely hear those same fans.

I think that group of singers are too far at the back to affect the rest of the stand.

Watched Rangers v Hearts this afternoon. Scottish football is considered as low standard, the atmosphere was anything but. Incredible support, from every stand (possibly not always like that). We're chasing those Gooner cunts down, and we need to learn how to replicate that.

That was a top of the table clash.

Our atmospheres against Liverpool and Arsenal at home in the fight for the PL titles have been great and a match for any atmosphere in the world.

Good luck with that pal…..more chance of finding a nun in a knocking shop

Loved how all 4 stands up on there feet all match don’t see that often if ever at all in the English game

I've just watched a brilliant clip of the Radio Five Live commentary and the individual reaction of City fans in the away end at Anfield.

Truly amazing that even in all the emotion of finally seeing us win at Liverpool (my first success from 17 attempts) you can still see some lads reaching for their phones, and trying to film the moment rather than just enjoying it

Good luck with trying to reverse such a weird evolution

@Always Ali & @Elliot houghton

The Scottish game is an inferior product to the EPL, but what the Scottish game has brought to the supporters' sections, like the rest of the world.

They make noise when nothing is happening on the pitch, but the English support is only to cheer when something is happening on the pitch. Until this changes, you will not experience the atmosphere that you describe in Scotland.

The only team that bought into this in the EPL is the Homesdale Fantics at Crystal Palace, and Arsenal have now copied this with the Ashburton Army.

Manchester City doesn't have anything like this at all and never will because of various reasons
