It's never great unless it's a big game, excluding away games. Over the last few years at the Etihad, it's obviously been a good atmosphere in games such as the derby, or a later-stage Champions League match, but other than that it's poor most of the time.It wasn’t great was it. There was a ten minute spell in the first half when it was decent, but it dropped off completely in the second half.
I think I was expecting it to get going after the goals, but it never happened.
After beating Liverpool and going 3 points within the league leaders as well. I know the second half, literally nothing happened, so that didn’t help.
We'd just beaten Liverpool at Anfield, which we rarely do. Not only that, but to do it in that late fashion and to go 3 points off the top with it, you'd expect some atmosphere to build throughout the match, not only for the first 5 minutes.
And obviously we can all blame it on the boring style of play or the ticket prices/management but there are still 50,000-55,000 fans in that stadium every week. We're getting 20,000 leaving at 75 minutes and missing 10 minutes before/after half time and before/after kick off. It's embarrassing.
