Atmosphere Thread | 2025/26

I saw that group in east stand when I sat in sl3 could see them from behind the scoreboard clapping and standing up lol brilliant effort. I know it’s hard to get up for Wednesday with the deflation yesterday at West Ham but just got to keep going, fighting letting the players know and keep winning is the main thing.

The South Stand needs to be changed

The current set-up does not work with 3 tiers of away fans. City showed with the cup games what could be done by keeping the away fans in the South Stand

We need the Kippax corner and the SSL1 to become one area, as it all looks like just now it's more about winding the away fans up

You could do a Newcastle, Barcelona, and Real Madrid and put the away fans on the third tier

So you would end up with a whole single tier of noisy fans right behind the goal. This is what the team needs.

A lot of fans wanted the North Stand to be the Blue Wall, but this is never going to happen, as the club has decided to go after more corporate sections

We all need to ask the club why they spend money on making the North Stand sound better acoustically, so as not to go ahead with the Blue Wall

You just need to look around the world to see famous ends of stadiums, Anfield, Holt End, Gallogate, Gwladys Street End, Stretford End, The Yellow Wall and our own Kippax at Maine Road

City is selling the new North Stand as "The North" but what is the North ? is supposed to be like the above-mentioned

1894 doing a John and Bernardo tribute today , seems odd when there is still a final league game to come and tonight by the looks of it will be relatively poorly attended , but of a damp squib of a send off, unless the final game needs to be kept clear for goodbye to PEP?

I cannot see young fans moving from the away end at City but we could end up with two popular ends if City commit to reasonable pricing in the North stand. Pricing is everything. It's even more important than technical design, two tiers vs three, acoustics etc.

Contrary to other people, I don't think City are anti-fan. We don't need to be. Revenue from other sources far exceeds ticketing revenues. Long term football clubs are looking at streaming content to global audiences which requires a stage i.e., full ground. As soon as 2027, UEFA plans to offer a Champions League streaming service direct to fans. The target is the huge Asian audiences and this way football gets to replace the broadcasters.

I agree. Last game of the season or the cup final make more sense to me.

I think avoiding the last day of the season is more of a “just in case” scenario.

The Jonny Stones chants were deafening.

This has been debated a lot as you are aware.

1. The South Stand configuration will not change. The 3 levels have been consulted upon previously and agreed. Premier League rules require that some away fans are at pitch side level. There are a few exceptions approved by the PL.

2. From an atmosphere generation perspective and a policing / stewarding point of view, it would be better if the complete lower level (SS level 0) was all City fans and not split by away fans. The club however are restricted by the authorities in what they can do.

3. Away fans will always be located in the South Stand due to police / health and safety MCC requirments and due to the location of a secure, dedicated coach / mini-buses/car park at the rear.

4. Many agree with you that there are high numbers of City fans who are as much concerned about so called `banter` with away fans and spending time on the concourses as they are about generating singing inside the stadium.

5. These are the new ticket prices -

South Stand lower, Level 0
£745 for an adult,
£500 for 18-21, and
£240 for under 18.

Level 0 is currently the area occupied by the "atmosphere" group.

6.
New North Stand ticket prices (and rear of the South Stand, Level 3)
Level 2 start at -
£425 for an adult,
£280 for 18-21, and
£200 for under 18.

The North Stand safe standing section will be able to create a real racket up there.

7.It has also been debated previously about the GA+ seats in the new North Stand with associated sports bar type facilities forh those fans who choose to pay more. The GA+ seats have no real bearing on the 9,000 approx other seats in the big, one level, tier 2 of the new North Stand.

8.City, and their internal / external professional, decide on what they think the best branding is for the club and also for the enrtainment destination they are creating for the 300 plus days / nights when football is not on.

9. The new North Stand will be great. Many fans are keen to re-locate, attracted by the pricing ,the real opportunity to occupy a complete, huge City end and create a better atmosphere, where they will not have to move for cup matches, and where the noise can boom out from the back and better involve the rest of the stadium.
