Atmosphere Thread | 2025/26

Sad that fans no longer show respect to the cup itself. The losing sides fans can't wait to get away. I remember in 1976 Newcastle fans stayed applauded their own sides lap of honour then applauded City with the cup. Tha last losing fans I can remember staying were Soke 15 years ago. Just one of many ways the cups have been cheapened

Actually, I have a moan, why did they play two minutes of Blue is the Colour for all the Chelsea fans to sing along to, and then instead of playing Boys in Blue, played the pub rock version of Blue Moon that's too fast for anyone to follow?

Also weirdly lots of empty seats here today yet many on this forum couldn't get one how did that happen??
That’s what you get when City and Chelsea fans get 33k tickets each that both sets of fans sold out but there’s still 24k tickets to shift on.

Should just give both sets of fans 40k each and make them cheaper.

Strange, I'd say 2,000+ empty seats, very visible in both ends, very weird. I suspect agencies had tons at inflated prices, if an agency had 500, they only need to sell 400 to making a killing, they don't care about the 100 empties.
It's way too expensive as well, paying £175 or even £125 for that is extortionate. £50 and £80 is fair enough. Also the kind of fan who can afford expensive tickets is different to the more price sensitive ordinary regular. Football is killing itself.
I found it hard to properly celebrate our goal until it was clear the referee wasn't putting his finger to his ear for a review, it's not the same unbridled joy from the past, once the linesman had kept his flag down.
Chelsea out sung us pretty comprehensively I thought, their entire lower tier stood for most of the game.
Still, a great win, and another trophy. No fan base has travelled as far and spent as much as ours in the past 10 years. Hard for the vocal locals to keep paying those prices, so dilution of our core at expensive games is understandable.
CITID.

Atmosphere first half 3/10
Atmosphere second half 7/10

I think that might have been down to the 7AM start and drink consumed.

Chelsea fans seem to think they were amazing… they weren’t. Maybe marginally better than us first half, we were better than them second half.

Think half the problem is that most have sunk umpteen pints from early morning and are as we're getting older a bit fucked/knackered....it'd be different if we just had a 30 min tube ride.
Chelsea were distinctly average though with their 30 minute tube ride… we should NEVER take shit from that lot for not making noise!

Quite a lot of our end left before the players had really started the post trophy celebration. Maybe the coaches have deadlines?

Such a long day though. Left the house at 7.45 and just got in. Knackered!

Left at 6:30 and still half an hour from home.

Might have another beer yet though ;D

Could hear city a lot more was in block 124

Chelsea bit more 2nd half. Overall the game was wank, they didn’t come to play football
Neither did we until late on. Doku could have had his full back on toast by going for the line, but he turned inside every time with no result. Man for man we were a lot better but we failed to capitalise and our fans were frustrated.

I'm very surprised to come on here and read all this negative bollocks.

I thought we were decent today, certainly far better than chelsea apart from a brief 10 minute period just after half time.

It wasn't as good as the Arsenal game, but it was certainly far from the worst we've had at Wembley.
Thought the atmosphere was decent today, but no where near the level of the semi final

Too much fannying around before the cup was presented and too long a climb to the new royal box.
Get it moved to above the tunnel and straight up to collect cup and medals after celebrating on the pitch.
The game finished just before five yet the players only got round to our bit around half-five.
Just got in, fed up with going to Wembley, but I won't be giving up yet. And saw @Tim of the Oak after the game which is always an honour!!

Yeah agree with that bit: that walk up to the cup/Medals bit is ridiculous.

That was my take. I thought Chelsea were quiet apart from a couple of moments. There seemed to be more City fans in the ground as well. Our fans were solid if not as good as we were in the Arsenal Final.
