only empties were in the middle tier that I saw, the 200 plus tickets
There were empty seats along the side in the bottom tier to our left as we looked at the pitch (facing the cameras on tele). There were also some on the same side in the top tier, there was one big chunk near the half way line of about 40-50 seats.

But what can we do? Both sets of fans sold out their 33,219 allocations which meant there were 24k tickets left that didn’t all get dished out to the FA family or bought from the ticket tout sites.

City and Chelsea should just have been given more tickets.

Other clubs like Liverpool and United always have fans buying from the ticket tout sites when their official club allocations sell out (often shelling out £350+ for them). But I have never known a City fan buy from those sites.

Ahh I was bottom left of this pic, just above the football intelligence officers and could only see the middle tier and about two rows in the upper stand behind the dugout.

Chelsea had a number of empties aswell. one of the football stat apps I use suggested the ground was 93% full @uwerosler28
It's really annoying given how many stories there where on here of people missing out or having to pay over the odds as it was "sold out "

I posted a picture of this. There was a block of 10 empty seats at the bottom of every staircase on the top tier in both ends. Here it is again. I cannot work out why this was as the game was sold out.IMG_0840.jpeg

been like this for a number of games last few weeks, the last womens home game vs liverpool, U18s cup final and now this.

Really strange.

Strange isn't it, could understand if it was for security purposes

Ticket tout site allocations, if you ask me.

You often see these sites saying you can get up to 11 seats together for all games, including at the Etihad.

Maybe that’s what it is. It did cross my mind that the game was part of a terrorist threat that didn’t get announced publically for why we were both only given a 27,800 initial allocation, because there was no reasoning why the allocations were so low.

Then with both getting an increase up to 33,219, maybe the ticket tout site tickets were pulled so couldn’t get into the hands of randoms.

Just a guess, nothing but speculation on my part.

My take on the 'your support is fuckin shit' was more just directed at how quiet we were in that first 25 mins, (rather than the fan base as a whole), if we had been loud it wouldn't have happened...I do think like some have mentioned, them being able to just set off for the match at 1pm like it's a normal league game helps them massively. I got the tube at 1:30 and thousands got on at Baker Street and you could tell they were just starting their sessions, compare that to a lot of our fans who have been travelling and on the beers since 9am you can understand the lethargy by the time the game starts...also the feeling of the league slipping away factors into to, no matter how hard you try to separate the competitions and think it's an fa cup final, so surely you have to be up for it, there is still that potential disappointment hanging over us and the thought of Arsenal winning the league...I think if we were top of the league it would have been much better

North Stand - Make the Noise Boom

The new level 2 North Stand is superb.

For anyone wanting to create a racket and get behind the team this will be the best location in the stadium. The noise from here will boom out.

There is a great feel to the huge level 2 where all City fans will be together, on one level, not split. The views are very good, even at the back. The safe standing seats are cheap in all categories across the back.

Any fan that gets a place on Row 46 will have an absolute bargain.

Concourse - the general admission concourse runs the entire length of the stand, is deep, is light at each end, and has a long row of food and drink dispensing points. The vomitories are much wider than elsewhere in the stadium.

I could post lots of photos from today`s event however because jrb has bought a new camera I will leave it to him to upload photos after the next test event on Wednesday.

For those fans who are seriously interested in improving the atmosphere, the North Stand provides that opportunity.

Thanks for the update.

It sounds very promising from your post.

Please post the pictures if you want to.

My pictures and pictures by other people will be additional to yours. :-)

Forgot to mention that the game was rearranged last minute , pissing down, very few palace fans (800)

The obsession these days of focussing on empty seats makes me bewildered and angry because who gives a fuck ? Really ! Who gives a fucking shit?

Cheaper ticket prices would help but that isn’t the only solution to a myriad of reasons people don’t go or can’t make it

It was hard work in that away end yesterday. It was certainly decent at times with plenty at the back of the stand singing their hearts out for 90 minutes. However for large periods of time about 75% of the stand just stood there, especially once going down.

We've been fantastic on the road this season, however these last 2 games vs Everton and Bournemouth have been nowhere near our usual standards.

Fair play to Bournemouth I thought they were in fine voice, definitely the loudest I've heard them, and probably one of the louder grounds we've played at this season.

was on the top row and thought it was a good atmosphere last night tbh, especially first half. good few tourists dotted around though which should not be the case for a game that sold out at 28,000 points...

Pretty much my feelings on it too.

I'm from the States and my favorite teams over here are mostly teams with smaller fanbases.

Doesn't matter. Sports aren't a popularity contest. I care about WINNING.

Seat-spotters are idiots who want something to feel good about, very much the equivalent of "yeah well my car is nicer than yours."

Head scratcher of a chant that one considering Chelsea have never had higher average attendances than City since 2003 and the move away from Maine Road.
To be fair, there’s not much they can do about that if their capacity is way lower than ours.

In any case, it would’ve been a dig at our atmosphere rather than our numbers. They sang it at us during the 2021 CL Final in Porto - while we had way more fans out there than them and basically took over the city and bossed the atmosphere in the couple of days leading up to the match plus were loud pre-match inside the stadium, once the game kicked off they were louder than us.

On the flip side we sang it to them at Stamford Bridge the other week and a fair few Chelsea fans have said in recent years that we’re up there as the best away fans at their place.
