That is a ridicules statement! With Humans the world and all its life has the potential to live forever. Without us, there would be a certain end. Without live, the universe would be empty, and with out us, all of earth's beings will die eventually.

whats the point in spending 10 billion on looking into the past? surly spending 10 billion on looking into the future and making sure we live to see the future is more value for money!?

I'm intrigued how you came to that conclusion! The world seemed to survive for several million years before we came along, I'd give it decent odds on another go without us, but we're here now so it's largely irrelevant.

So why are you moaning about how the money gets spent then? One minute your saying that the money should be spent on helping cure disease, prolonging our survival, then you say the world would be a better place without humans? Make your mind up.
