Yep, less than Luton v Wimbledon got for an FA Cup Semi Final.

Rags v Arsenal semi final in their treble season attendance just was just over 30k which is fewer than we've taken to any semi final at Wembley yet we're the shit fans.
More City fans attended a third tier league match v Luton Town than Rags fans attended an Fa Cup Semi final that night.

Every armchair Rag I knew back in the 90s used to claim they couldn't get tickets but when asked about why they didn't go to either of these "massive" games couldn't give me an answer.

You forgetting to apply the Shamrock-viking equation. To get a correct attendance you need to divide by 3.5 irish dippers and then multiply by the number lifelong scandanavian cheeky chappy scouser wannabees. Then take away the sum total of all those who dont own a stanley knife or rob their granny for chip money - hey presto - you have the answer.

A Rag I know tried to be clever after last years semi final, he didn't know any of this even though he's one of the very few I know that actually knows where the swamp is.
For a club with 679 million fans (TM), they do get a disproportionate number of shit attendances for "massive" games.
22k for a European final in their own stadium is my personal favourite.
 
WOW! Everybody in this thread is being really naive believing ANYTHING that our club says.

I mean, come on, EVERYBODY knows that we "cook our books" and that we're "cheats" with regards to EVERYTHING financial, including posting inflated match attendance figures. Our published attendance figures clearly don't match the capacity of the ground minus the number of empty seats on view for EVERY match. I thought EVERYBODY knew this? ;)

We're only building an extension to our ground so that we can cook the attendance figures further cause we clearly won't be able to fill it, it's all just another method for us to cheat FFP rules, surely EVERYBODY knows this??? ;)

Scouse cunts are going to be scouse cunts, no matter how many facts you throw at them, it's a fucking snipe hunt trying to educate any of them. Why bother?

Agree. The scouse/rag throwbacks have become a brainwashed cult and will never listen to any reasoned fact-based argument about attendances, finances, history or anything else.

It's become their coping mechanism since they all lost the battle on the pitch.

Get in an argument with a frothing red and you will never win by logic.

Telling them that it's irrelevant and City will keep winning titles anyway really boils their piss.
 
The ability for one or two fans of other clubs to just say something about City that they'd *like* to be true ... and then have everyone jump on the bandwagon and accept it as fact ... is staggering and depressing.

Social media hasn't helped ... it's so easy to start a rumour & then all the City haters pile in and before you know it, it's a generally accepted "fact".

An armchair Rag down the pub also told me that the sheikh buys all thr empty seats personally at inflated prices and that we use the money to pay Haaland an extra salary off thr books.

Was at both those games....laughable ...was a perennial event getting gubbed by those twats...still 40+ k there.

My Facebook had a lot of LFC comments posted including some quoting facts which are clearly not true. One of my favourites claimed that when City reduced the capacity from 55k to 53,500 they continued to post the old attendances (I.e over new capacity) even though the capacity is about 1500 less! Any one can check something as basic as that but no, that’s another of these crazy myths they believe.

I remember when the rags were bragging about getting tax payers money to increase their ground capacity and I asked a few if they thought Liverpool would enlarge theirs. They all claimed there was little point in the dippers having a bigger ground because they wouldn't fill it. That was back in the 80's and it seems while grounds change, rags and dippers are still idiots.
 
Another factor to mention when ill informed naysayers ridicule us for expanding the ground is City’s huge latent support. Ok it’s nearly 40yrs ago now but the de facto Charlton attendance was probably nearer 60,000 than 50k and also look at the huge numbers we took to Wembley for Gillingham and then Wigan.

Every decade or so we see evidence of this massive untapped support we have which,if we get the pricing and accessibility right as the stadium expands, could see us averaging high 60s maybe even 70k at home.
