Attendances This Season(a positive thread)

West ham will be a good yardstick, saturday on sky, near a champions league game, meaning many will choose one or the other, i think the prices are just a little bit too steep, 50k will be an excellent turn out

west hams cheap isn't it ? 25 / 30 quid

Two great criwds and I can see us getting more than 50k for every game.

We can grow our fan base to justify the North Stand extension. The crunch decision for fhis Club is whether they they can sell enough corporate tickets to help pay for the expansion.

we already have the fan base make tickets cheap and we will sell out no problem

Main problem in terms of how it looks on TV, as always is large blocks of seats with nobody in them, these are ALWAYS in the North Stand L1 and corporate areas CB and East Stand l2

From what I gather this is due to tickets for academy players families in North Stand and unused sold corporates in L2.

Club should move the free tickets for academy players out of TV cameras view

If this is the genuine reason, then I agree with you.
Also, it might help if the club allow such tickets to be 'confirmed' by the holders up to a week before a game, otherwise they go on general sale, or to a charity. i.e. they must actively use them, or lose them.

If we average 52000 to 54000 this season then who could argue? its a fantastic average.

There did seem to be quite a lot of empty seats dotted about yesterday and we had limited seats available in most blocks in the morning I guess we had season tickets holders on holiday or whatever with it being the summer holidays so they are still counted. We should see how we go for a few seasons as far as further expansion goes it fine as it is.

I agree that we probably have enough regular supporters to get 60k crowds if tickets priced are priced right.

We haven't got enough corporates to justify the expansion as the Premium seat holders pay for the cheaper tickets. The Club would need to change its business model or delay the North Stand expansion!

You have to look ahead. There were people on here screaming that we'd never get 53000 v Watford. Now we have to look not at the here and now but 2 or 3 years down the line. Luckily our chiefs have a little vision

Intersting picture in the MEN showing the level 3 away tier less than 1/3rd full.

Somebody at Watford messed up.

Think this may have suited city to let Watford have the 3rd tier ,it would have been a big ask to probably sell those extra 1000 + to city fans against a so called no glamorous team.

Sunday Times, Football Results page; Attendance at our game was 43,000 FFS!

How have attendances been in CB level 2? Interested as I was priced out of there, but was dubious as to whether it would sell out. I can't see it from where I sit now.

Whoever is responsible for those tickets should inform the club at the earliest opportunity that they aren't going to be filled so the club can sell them again and get some people in who haven't been able to get a tickets together or tickets full stop (for those "sold out" games).

Then we won't need to worry about won't seats being in view of the cameras.

Or build a stand of 18000 rail seats!

Really dont think the club are bothered about empty seats , if they have been paid for , they have got the money , it appears our supporters are more bothered about what the media and envious rival supporters say about our club , personally i just laugh in their faces , because we had over 30,000 in the third tier 15 years ago , and no other club would have equalled that. Our loyalty to the club is without question , a spotty faced hack in the MUEN with a felt tip pen , does not matter one iota. We will have to get used to the jealousy and envy , it comes with the territory of being the most successful club in England for the next decade or two.

Do papers pick up Barca fans for not selling out every game of every season? no, people won't make it to some games for whatever reason, I really don't get why there is such a hoodoo over us having a few empty seats,

Is it just my laptop playing up or does all the 3rd tier show as unavailable for anyone else?
Cant imagine those areas are already sold out considering the availability in other (cheaper) parts of the ground.

Big step up and good to see. Need to sort out these away allocations with teams asking for the full allocation and falling way short.
Thought if the away team took the full allocation they had to pay for them, if this is still the case would they be added to the "attendance" ?

They are, hence West Ham not being given the 3rd tier.

Every chance we might sell out for this game but never looked like selling out for Watford and indeed it didn't sell out. Not much point in restricting Watford really.

the expansion in itself does all the talking along with the players on the pitch, best stadium and academy in the country buy a mile...

Let the twats carry on writing their horse shit, gives us something else to prove wrong, again !
