Anyone else get the auction email saying points won't be carried over until next season?

Don't really understand the reasoning but hey ho.

But they always said it was going to be this way and it makes it fairer for everyone to start again! I successfully bid for one of the auction prizes earlier on and am now in the lowest unique bid for three items!!

Sent an email to the auction help email address and was told those in charge of the website would sort out the error when trying to logon. Just tried then and still no joy, says there is a 'validation error'.
