Blue Pig been shut for around 6 years+ now, but as it is a listed building it won't be getting flattened anytime soon.

Yeah it is but Guide Bridge is just a little part of Ashton isn't it? Like you have Ashton West End, Crow Hill etc and then you've got Guide Bridge.

Wetherspoons being cheap is a myth

3 bottles of Beck for £5 last week in Stalybridge is cheap enough for me!

Fosters £1.89 a pint.

I was only talking about the boundry yesterday with a mate of mine while having a pint in the corpy. I get the train home from Guide bridge every evening so a weatherspoons would be great.

Raja Bros turned the Canterbury Arms in Ashton into a shop so them buying pubs up is not unheard of.[/quote]
My dad had that pub in the late eighties, early nineties,I always prefered the bitter in the 7 stars myself.
Sad to hear about the Junction closing,my grandad's regular after work boozer.
