Auschwitz

Went there 6 months ago. The video on the tour bus driving there was very tough viewing, actually being there and seeing the hair and possessions was horrifying. Recommend it if you're in Krakow..sounds kind of strange saying that.

we have all seen the docu's and footage but there was a programe on last night with footage i had never seen before and quite gruesome it was, i'm pretty good at dealing with stuff like that but whats got to me is when they cut a bag of human hair open and pulled out the plated pony tail of a young girl who was probably aged between 5 and 15, all day i cant shake it off and keep thinking how terrible it must have been :-(

Im the same, can watch most things with no bother whatsoever. But I saw a documentary about the Unit 731 atrocities a few years ago and it shook me to the bone. Makes Auschwitz look like a walk in the park with the shit that happened there.

Ah thank you.

Horrific docu .... I will get to Krakow one day ... everyone should see it. Especially the sad sacs out there that deny it happened.

I did go to the Peace Park and museum in Hiroshima .... pretty harrowing stuff to see there too ...

It amazes me how anyone could deny this happened, all that footage the amount of witnesses.
There was one point in the documentary when one man said he knew some people would deny that's why they went to great lengths to film slow pans without any cuts to show dignitaries viewing the pits in bodies.

Going to Krakow for the 3rd time in March. Fascinating City. We stay in the same hotel around the corner from the Jewish Quarter. If any one does go, a visit to Auschitz is a must. You do not realise the size of the place until you do the second part of the tour and head to Auschwitz II - Birkenau
