Australia & Novak Djokovic case

Next one is in France, so good luck with that Novak.
come win it at Wimbledon in a country with a modicum of freedom where he'll be appreciated. Australian tennis may never get to see Novak play again, market their tournaments or sell them tickets and advertising ever again thanks to their belligerence. No wonder their own population hate their government so much whilst Covid carries on regardless.

Does beg the question why Tennis Australia were granting a medical exemption that didn’t comply with the entry requirements for the country. Doesn’t matter if they wanted him to play, they had to align with that surely.

I have very little sympathy for him and as much as it is slightly amusing it’s now blown up even more, how on earth it ended up in this situation is a screw up that’s down to more than just him.
Australia look like a complete incompetent shower, to be honest.

Was predictable he'd get an exemption when it was first mentioned that was the way non-vaccinated players could play. And was predictable that would cause an uproar.

They've made a mess of the situation, the simple stance they claimed they were going to stand by was that unvaccinated players wouldn't be allowed in. Now they've managed to piss off their residents by allowing him in and tried to amend it by blocking him last minute, so pissed him off too.

Hard to feel bad for the guy though, as unlikable as they come in a sport where they have 2 outstanding ambassadors as his greatest rivals.
