Can you write in English please.. can’t understand any of that :)It used to cost me 4d for four bus rides, !/- into the ground and a tanner for a programme, I think! Could be slightly out with my calculations but I seem to recall making the round trip with a two shilling piece.
Heard that Euston is also closed! Making sure we can definitely travel before I book my trains. Also heard that there could me a limit/no away fans. Can’t see it personally but your never know. Wait till the tickets go on saleYou can now book tickets for 15 August (Tottenham away) but they’re warning timetables haven’t been finalised so it’s probably best not to!
Still showing as register interest for meTickets for 21 August (Norwich home) now on sale
Sorry, train tickets, not match ticketsStill showing as register interest for me
Better fucking not! I'm missing the next 2 due to work at the minute. I'm able to make thr Norwich one so will be majorly pissed if they move it for a meaningless game against a club who want nothing more than ours to fall at every hurdle. Is the Norwich date/time 100% certain - earlier in this thread someone mentioned it may get bumped by the Barca friendly?
You can go via Crewe on West Midlands trains and back via Crewe on Avanti the week after for £33. It’s £66 for the Norwich weekend. Might be worth looking at LNER and changing at Leeds or Doncaster. You can do that, if booked early enough, for about £55.Cheapest day return is £94-50p from Euston to Piccadilly. My City watching days are done unless this changes. Might make the odd game, but that's about it at those prices.
Cheers, I'll have a lookYou can go via Crewe on West Midlands trains and back via Crewe on Avanti the week after for £33. It’s £66 for the Norwich weekend. Might be worth looking at LNER and changing at Leeds or Doncaster. You can do that, if booked early enough, for about £55.
Good shout. I can do that for £60 (inc the Leeds/Manc return). Certainly way better than what Avanti are askingYou can go via Crewe on West Midlands trains and back via Crewe on Avanti the week after for £33. It’s £66 for the Norwich weekend. Nicer trains as well…..Good shout. I can do that for £60 (inc the Leeds/Manc return). Certainly way better than what Avanti are asking
I do the ticket split thing myself as they do add on a couple of quid commission. Don't know whether to leave it a bit or just bite the bulletAvanti are shooting themselves in the foot here! Very greedy! After a little look around, for the Norwich game, I've managed to get from London Euston to Manchester and back for just under £54, by going up from Euston on Northwestern (£9.30) and changing at Crewe to/from Manchester on tfwrail (£9.60 return) and then back from Crewe on Avanti (£34.90). 3 1/2 hours out and 2hrs 40 return... I used the train split page to guide me (although I booked with the individual companies). Don't think I'll be able to get up for the Arsenal match on Bank Holiday Saturday!
4d is about 2p, a tanner is two and a half pence, two shillings is 10p and a shilling is 5p.Can you write in English please.. can’t understand any of that :)
That isn’t going to work. People on non-essential travel at weekends are very sensitive to price. Try keeping prices high and your revenue will fall. People will go via car or by bus or maybe just stay at home?I suspect industry is trying to claw back its losses,of which rail was hit very hard.
Over the past few weeks i have noticed while i am spending more money i havent altered my routine.
The cost of living has definitely risen, and many people haven't had a pay rise (with many losing their income completely).
It does seem things are going to get tougher before they (hopefully, although wont hold my breath) get better.
