Ahh yeah, the usual faces...you know all of the usual core of 3-5k travelling fans do you? City's fan base is growing...some of them may not wanna get lashed up before the game, other "plastic fans" may have brought their families and therefore not the usual 90-minute-singing-fans. Some foreigners may have spent a fortune on their one game per season and don't know the songs...how dare these plastic foreigners spend so much money over and above genuine other fans.

Some people on these threads want to keep the fan base to just anyone within a 20 mile radius of the Etihad Stadium, northern accent, like a drink before the game and have to prove they have 10000+ points before entering the stadium. Well that's fine if you want the Etihad to have 10-15000 less fans in every week. With some it's turning into a facist-like obsession. This "proper City fan" tag is BS. Keep knocking the minority corporates too...at home games it's 'potentially' those guys paying top whack that keep our season ticket prices at levels that we can just about afford every year.

Oh, and talking of plastic fans, it's been happening for years already....the City Supporters Clubs have been getting allocations for years now and people without season tickets just cherry pick their best 5 games per year and jump ahead of season ticket holders.

People need to accept new faces at the grounds and accept that the atmosphere isn't the same - you'll never get the same atmosphere as we did in the 80's because it IS a different fan base & situation, ie no standing, more families than ever, rather than 30000 guys with a few beers down our throats etc.

The new faces will allow City to grow as a club - I personally want to see us selling out a 60,000 stadium in 3 years time (or 54000 at first) - that'll only happen by bringing onboard new fans - hopefully that'll happen a lot quicker than normal because we're successful and kids growing up throughout the country (ie outside of Manchester) will want to be City fans.

Get fucking used to it.
Calm down young man, I meant it was a great friendly atmosphere in the pub but seemed to be full of idiots (mongs) and very moody in the ground. I wasn't talking about the families or foreigners who copped for most of the shit from these idiots. The usual faces are a mixture of young and old who seem to end up in pubs together near the away ground. I don't know all of them but recognise a lot of faces .
Next time you've got an opinion mighty mouth stick it on somebody elses post and fuck off quoting my post when you know fuckall about it

you try "calming down". and this is the last time you or anyone will use the term "mongs" on this forum.
Don,t be a PC idiot and take it in the way its meant, People get monged out and are idiots youre a mod not god

By the way if youre going to ban the word do it in the first place instead of writing WTF like a teeenage girl

I'm a bit worried now. Foreign accent ... check. Unfamiliar face at away games (since kids came along) ... check.

Shit, I might become a plastic glory hunter 20 years after my first game.

Seriously, who gives a toss. Anyone who has been going home and away for any length of time should have no troubles getting to games.

And when I first started going to aways, with practically no loyalty points I never had a problem with getting a ticket.

Fuck me there are some self righteous cunts on here.

You can only watch us if you can prove you were here when we were shit seems to be the general theme.

I used to go to away games until a combination of shift working and lack of funds stopped me but according to the twats on here that makes me a plastic and a day tripper.

Tell you what lets go back to being watched by 8000 then you can all be happy in your own sad little worlds with just your own sad little friends for company. Or better still why not give the club a list if people YOU find acceptable to be allowed to attend. I am sure they will be happy to ban everybody else from supporting us

The way I see it the people complaining about bandwagon jumpers are doing so because the likes of you have been priced out and they fear the same will happen to them. What they are saying is they would rather be sat next to you (someone there when we were shit) than some idiot who had never heard of us before 2011

That's just it though. I'm a regular awayer but came up short for the derby which is fair enough if people with more points than me got tickets. Apparently there were loads of tourists in the away end there too. Some tickets from the away end are being allocated to this type of fan which shits all over the loyalty point system. I have no problem with new fans and welcome them all but they should have to earn the tickets to the big matches like everyone else.

What has been the case for as long as I can remember is that away tickets are allocated to

The following groups will receive an allocation of tickets for this match: Supporters, Seasonal Hospitality Supporters, Football Management, Players, Club Partners and the MCFC Supporters Club.

So this should cover the 2 groups brought up in this thread.

Club Partners - Sponsors whom always get offered an allocation but when we were shit nobody really took up the offer. Now great for some companies to be able to offer these as a sweetener to help their business. Hence why you sometimes see people you would never expect in the away end

MCFC Supporters Club - Welcome to the pissed up brigade. I've done it and still do go with a supporters branch and they are a top laugh. But we all know that there are people on the coaches and at away games that are on somebody else ticket. I remember talking to a lad from Bredbury in Barca who had booked his ticket and travel through the club. Thomas cook it was as well. He openly admitted he never had enough points and wouldn't have got there otherwise.

Seasonal Hospitality Supporters - Fuck knows who they are.

So that is what success starts to bring. You cant stop it nobody is getting priced out it is just that some groups are now starting to take the tickets that they never wanted previous.

Final bit to add. What always makes me laugh is when you get to your seat at away matches and there are 4 blokes stood there around 2 seats. The usual reply is we always stand together mate have done for years since the days at Maine Road. My reply is "well that is fucking bollocks because if you have been standing together since the days of maine road at every match you would have booked 4 seats together. Now Fuck off out of my seat area".

Oh I see. So now you need educating as what is deemed acceptable terminology. Right ok sweetheart try this. We may have members/lurkers that are or know someone that may have special needs. Now you may not care about that and in all honesty those type of words would never be uttered by me or my family.
I am a rum **** and am no little girl.i posted WTF because I couldn't believe what had just been posted. Next time I'll react as a moderator rather than a normal decent thinking individual.

as a supporter if over 40 years and been to 100s of away games over the years i have no problem with any new fans
AS LONG as they dont become like the hordes of rag like fans at the swamp big mouthed big head know it alls who look down there nose at every other supporter. so come all you new fans and join the best team in the land and all the world, will be a great site to see a 60,000 stadium full every week i look forward to it.

p.s. leave the bloody cameras at home.

It was one of the most important games of the season and season card holders and fans with a a lot of loyalty points has ticket priority, are people really staying home because of the ticket price?

As I'm a dead rockstar billionaire ticket price really dosen't effect me..

Anyhow, had a great time in the away pub before the game, got pissed, 2nd half a bit of a blur...

Yes. The fans who went agreed with the price in effect. It is not really a matter of affordability for most people, I just people don't like feeling they are being ripped off. Hull was just as important and almost half the price (or a third if 16/17).
