Away end tonight

If tickets were more affordable then more genuine Blues would be there. Arsenal midweek in the League Cup was class a few seasons ago. We had thousands and the atmosphere was brilliant for something like £15. £62 was overpriced - and if they have to pimp out tickets to Supporters Groups and through packages then that's a sad state of affairs.

Like others, I haven't truly enjoyed going for a few seasons because the whole experience is flatter and more generic than ever before.

Er.................City dont set the prices for our away games! Of course £62 was overpriced, but that was Arsenal's pricing. Based on that, the £48 for the swamp tickets were a bargain, win or lose! But having attended 99% of our away games for many years now, without doubt, in most cases, the atmosphere in our away end is better than at home. With respect, it takes at least 3 goals to get our home crowd in full flight and even then, there is a real air of arrogance.

£62 + train, coach, car + pint & a pie (fooking pie prices at Arsenal were outrageous) is out of reach of many pockets - but that does not mean we cant embrace whatever our fans bring to the party.

A radical idea I know but you could save the 'outrageous' cost of a pie and pint by not buying a pie or pint.

OOPS Yes! I forgot the holistic approach of our owners - note to self: bring a pint of home brew 'miso soup' and only attend games on the '2' of the '5:2' diet regime, avoiding the need to eat more than 62 calories.....................still close on a 100quid for the day

complete side note but I'm getting pretty good at remembering my own food. Take a packed lunch (sandwich, pasty, bananna and chocolate bar). Half the price double the food. However, food is only a small % of the cost of football!

We need the new fans to grow as a club and become self sustaining, otherwise the grumpy 40 odd yr olds like myself will just get older and die, thats the way its got to be if we want to stay at the top and compete, its not a private members club,at least these people are choosing to be blues,so they must be half right

Strange response but ok.

Ticket prices? They're disgraceful and we should all protest about it.

Food/drink? Nobody has to have a pie/pint etc in a football ground. If you choose to pay it then it's your lookout and you're encouraging them to charge what they do.

In principle the same argument could be used about ticket prices but they're a necessity to follow your team.

The club are giving tickets away and givingn them to the highest bidder. Which I dont think is fair on genuine fans. Like the derby for example loads of fans couldn't get a ticket only to watch the game full of camera wielding tourists, who I'd doubt have thousands of loyalty points. What is the point of the loyalty system when people with no points can gets tickets to all the biggest games.

I think price has a lot to do with it though, if it was cheaper I don't think many tourists would be there.

I'm sorry but I'm finding some of the nonsense posted on here absolutely incredible. Because some of you have followed City longer than others it doesn't give you the right to decide who should & shouldn't attend matches.

I went yesterday with my 3 sons costing me £171 for ticket then with petrol, train fares etc I guess I spent £300. Unfortunately I work for the NHS & they don't pay me enough to do that type of trip week in week out but that does not make us any less of a fan than those of you lucky enough to have the time & money to travel to most games.

Get over yourselves

No ones saying that. I just don't find it fair when a large percentage of our away end is given to people who in a lot of cases clearly aren't fans, with clear cases of even big groups of arsenal fans in our end, when actual city fans can't get tickets. How is that fair.

We are basically selling tickets to the highest bidder making it harder for city fans in most cases on average incomes to get tickets.

Oh, where did all the plastics come from?
I know away trips cost a bomb
The half and half scarves are such a joke
I don't like standing next to a random bloke

You can spot them a mile off, with a souvenir bag
I'm pretty sure last year they were a rag
Big away days are for proper blues
Went to York away, paid their dues

Corporate monkeys are just as bad
Drinking Pimms on the terrace just makes me sad
Go back to the cricket, it's where you belong
I bet you don't even know the words to one song

I'm only kiddin', just taking the pee
Everyone's welcome...... just shout MCFC!

Could've gone to Arsenal a few seasons in a row now, but I'm just not willing to ship out £62 for just another game in the season, especially after the expensive trips to Wembley and Barcelona in the month leading up to it. It is simply too much (and yes I know we are charging WBA £56, which is also shockingly expensive). On top of the ticket price, you're looking at around £50 for petrol, or £40 for train. Then you've got food, tube prices, and if you want to have a drink you've got to part with London priced pints away from the ground or stadium priced pints inside. You could be looking at best part of £150 just for one person for one match, it's just too expensive. With prices like that, the every day, working class city fan that has been going for years cannot afford to go, meaning its more likely to go to general sale, so anybody can afford to buy a ticket, they don't even need to be a blue. Bring back standing, bring back cheap tickets (or introduce a ticket price cap), bring back football specials, and bring back the working class fan. Atmosphere all over the country has already suffered and it will keep getting worse.

Only just got back (Mitch's tours took us to a pub near Villa's ground for last orders on the way home).

Behind me everyone was Belgian. When we scored I turned round for someone to celebrate with and they were all just stood there, arms folded.

How many loyalty points did it sell out at again?
Seen quite a few from Belgium yesterday, seen quite a few at Old Trafford Tuesday, seen quite a few of em at Barca away too askin us on the metro to teach em the words to the Kompany song.

They may come across as a tad reserved to some folk, but I give them credit for tryin to understand n' partake in the culture...

There's no wtitten manual on how to correctly support our team on awaydays or at home for a lot of these fans who make the effort to come in from all over Europe n' end up payin silly money for the experience, the more they go, the more they will meet other Blues that will help them to so-called 'fit in' along the way.

Last term it were the Spanish comin in support of Silva, if we ever sign a player from Tim Buk Tu then so be it, get use to it, it aint all bad, everyone has to start somewhere.

MCFC OK
