Away fans in home sections - Again!!!

Same in CBL1 seemed almost a 50/50 split but they weren't any bother and one of them got a shirt from one of their players at the end of the game. They were respectful and didn't jump up when their team scored so I have no problem with them.
Same with 2 guys in front of us that were loving the atmosphere but unfortunately there others that were being total knobs that weren't dealt with even though quite a few City fans were complaining.

There are always a few in block 105, mainly away fans with corporate tickets. Its not generally a problem, although the CSKA fans werent exactly welcomed.

I don't get it though? There were hundreds and hundreds of seats in the away end lying empty. Why on earth should several sections of the home support be infiltrated by them. Respectful or not, the day this becomes a norm is the day I pack it in going.

I understand where you are coming from Pablo1 but I am not sure what the club can do about it unless the people tell them at the time of booking that they are actually the opposing team supporters.

Try doing that at Juventus and see what happens

I don't think it's as simple as that mate.

There is a huge Italian community based in the UK, and if a significant proportion of our regular season ticket holders can't be arsed with the Champions League, then these people are going to find it easier to register at the ETIHAD, than go through the official channels.
You might even find that some of them attend our Premier League matches.
I remember United fans moaning on the MUEN website a few years ago, after finding themselves surrounded by Celtic fans at Old Trafford. It transpired that a lot of the Celtic fans were actually exiled Scots who had a season ticket at United.
Realistically, the reverse could never happen in Italy but it could happen if an English team played in Tenerife or Malaga, and loads of tourists bought tickets.
It certainly occurs when England play Rugby in Australia or New Zealand.

I agree it's not an easily solved problem and in fairness it only tends to be the CL games when it's prominant.
I guess it's easier to put up with when we're winning. :-)

You don't really have a point though, do you?

One of my lads, he's 10, was quite nervous about a group of 7 of them and if the club/stewards don't deal with problems then people will take the matter into their own hands.

Where do you sit? Do you even attend games?

Yeah course I attend games. I sit in the east stand.
There's always loads of away fans sat around us in the champions league. There's never any bother and it adds to the atmosphere.
The more the merrier as far as I'm concerned.

One of the disappointing features of Tuesday's game was the lack of visiting supporters. It adds to the occasion. All day they are usually milling around town and the atmosphere and expectation builds.

There were few Juventus fans in town. I assume that some local Juventus fans must have bought seats in the City ends, but when Juventus scored I didn't see any reaction in our end. When Bruges came to Manchester last months there were thousands of them.

What I did see was a load of different City fans than usual but that's a god job. Neither of the seasoncard holders on either side of me were there last night

It fucked with the atmosphere around where i was sitting, i wanna surrounded by city fans. Not have some twat chanting about buffon.

It amazes me how many seemingly normal people struggle to find their seat at these games. Its like the hardest puzzle in the world to some. One bloke was up and down the stairs mithering stewards etc 20 minutes into the game.

How hard is it to find Row G?

Got absolutely no problem with it. If you can't control yourself sat next to a few away fans then you've got some serious issues.

Rubbish. It's disrespectful. I wouldn't dream of going in the wrong end and behaving like a moron because I don't want it near me. I want to be with my own fans.

There was a few over my left shoulder at the back of 121 who kicked off when they scored. WHatever happened the city fans in the locale weren't happy and wanted them out! To be fair the stewards and Showsec obliged relatively quickly!

it really pisses me off to see away fans in the home end, think about us going in Juventus curva !?!?!

I think we have to be held responsible partially .. plenty of our fans left their seats empty (not on CL cup scheme) for Juve fans to take them

Go on tell the truth he aimed the shirt at you but you had butter fingers unlike the other week !!

There was a Juve fan on another thread complaining that they were only allowed a ticket if they bought a Euro 260 package (of which the ticket was Euro 50 and the hotel Euro 210). That probably explains the half-empty visitors section and away fans all around the ground.

Corruption and backhanders in Turin?

I'd have been more than happy with an Italian next to me. The lad who was sat next to me sounded suspiciously Scouse to me and just waved towards the Colin Bell Stand when I enquired where he usually sat. Very fishy!!
