Away fans / tourists in home sections

why would he spend in excess of £70 for a match ticket when he supports Arsenal, would any of us realy have any interest in a Liverpool v Arsenal fixture except for looking at flashscores if they game had a bearing on our position in the table
I know from going to watch games in the pub with the Tampa Bay Blues that when some of them come over for games they will take in other games simply for the experience and also because they are in the local area so why not.
For example they are seeing City at a London club (say Arsenal) on a Saturday and then again in Manchester on Tuesday / Wednesday in the Champions League. They will stay in London for the weekend and take in (for example) a West Ham or Chelsea game too.
Of course there is no excuse for turning up in City clobber though.

At least we’ve found out about what the new ticket compliance manager is doing. As he or she turns a blind eye to City selling tickets to City’s online ticket touting partners.
WTF? The TCM was never going to investigate official touting partners. The fans want these touts investigating but the club have no interest as they've signed agreements with these companies.

FFS - sounds like you’ve been proper stitched up there mate as they’ve clearly not explained all the consequences of going down the Section 14 route.
Pretty much yes mate.

What they also failed to explain was that the Met Police automatically apply for a Football Banning Order for all Section 14 offences, which will be dealt with at my Court hearing. The FBO will apply to any City game home or away, and includes UEFA and FIFA competitions. I would need to hand my passport into the local nick 10 days prior to the game and would not be able to pick it up for another 10 days, so 20 days per game.

My solicitor did a quick calculation based on MCFC's season 24/25 fixtures from August 24 to the conclusion of the CWC and my passport would have been confiscated for a total of 144 days, which is a ridiculous punishment that simply does not fit the "crime". So, any football fan who is dealt with and subsequently punished through the Courts is effectively punished twice by having your civil liberties taken away from you by order of the FBO.

The FBO is a blanket ban, no matter what the incident. You're treated as a full card-carrying English hoolie for the most minor offences. As I said in a previous post, I've not punched anyone, not chucked anything, not lit a pyro, not engaged in racist, homophobic or tragedy chanting.

Fucking stinks mate, football fans are treated like shit.

I expect our so-called "loyal supporters" to be full of excuses. Cheaper tickets and no school the following day, but so many of them still won't turn up.
Spot on mate. FWIW, I think Plymouth will be more enjoyable than most Prem games. I certainly enjoyed the Cup games vs Salford Rags.

No point blaming the international tourist fans that are buying these tickets. They are paying a fortune for the one game they will attend this year and have no clue on the rules.

They have bought it from an agency that makes no mention of it being a home section, and that cheering goals for the away team could end with them getting a hiding.

Blame the shitshow on City selling these tickets to the highest bidder. The game yesterday was sold out in August. However, how many of the non season tickets available were sold to City fans that had the relevant criteria in August - and how many were held back to go to the agency’s. We will never be told.

The club talk shit - they told City Matters a pack of lies literally a few days ago.

Turned us into an embarrassment in the stands and managed to alienate thousands of legacy fans to the point where they are giving up.

Shame on everybody involved at City.

We're not supporters anymore we're customers. As such the product isn't attractive. Extra expense in winter on a Saturday evening against lower league opposition. Transport after 6pm falls off a cliff, the game is live on tv. Let's see how many tourists snap up tickets for this one.

That's the ticket mate, have a go at blues instead of the problem.

But to be honest that's not really a dig at you, it's a dig at the mindset, it's the blues who are actually AT the games that are complaining so that argument falls on its arse.

And to buy a cheap ticket you first have to pay the club £35 just to get access to them, and even then you in most cases have to sit on your own.

We can't run a coach to these Cup games anymore. It used to be a great opportunity for getting young Blue families to their first City games.

Had a weird one yesterday, got to our seats about 5 minutes before ko, and as usual for big games there’s a couple of people in our seats. What was odd about it was they were in the correct seats. One was a genuine spare that had been sold on the exchange but the other was a duplicate of my mates season ticket. Same stand, block, seat, everything. Literally a duplicate. This couple, who were very nice by the way, got two seats elsewhere after speaking with a steward. Just found it odd that tickets could be duplicated like that, and that the turnstile would let both in.

Loads of scousers in 315 and 316 yesterday.
When we 1st moved in there it was all season tickets....now there's someone different every game around me . I've suspected away fans a couple of games this season but they have kept quiet but they were just blatant yesterday....one guy got called out by a blue and could have got nasty i suppose but the amount of day trippers now cancels out the passionate fans.

Edit:
Oh and couple of dry robe wankers a few rows in front. Now unless they had been for a refreshing dip in the Ashton canal before hand then fair enough....but come on

I know, I was being sarcastic.

The club have probably tasked the not so new now ticket compliance manager with finding new official ticket touting websites the club can partner with. City might as well roundup the 8 to 10.

I don't think people need an excuse at this stage. Look around these threads and the experience is so poor I wouldn't blame anyone for skipping matches. And the club are entirely to blame.

If you treat your supporters as customers, expect them to behave like customers.

When the club lapse a season ticket on purpose, they replace that season ticket with a match day ticket. The club have lapsed 1000’s of season tickets over the last 6 years since they stopped selling regular season tickets. All those lapsed season tickets could have been resold as regular season tickets to genuine City fans, but the club wants tourists and their money instead to drive match day revenue. It’s a simple as that.

Because they’ve been alienated and got out of the habit becauseof those twats in the boardroom .The whole city match day experience is a laughable , the Etihad is Disneyland.

I didn’t see the start of the incident in 115 but saw some of the aftermath and the fan being carted out up the steps by about half a dozen stewards as the punches rained down from all angles. I’m now hearing that he might not have been a Liverpool fan as such but perhaps one of those TikTok/blogger types as apparently he whipped his phone out and filmed the away fans celebrating after the first goal went in. Still a stupid thing to do in such a high profile game in the most hostile part of the stadium.

Loads of City fans were getting lifted in the second half, presumably because of their alleged involvement in the incident so I can see a fair few bans being handed out and more season tickets being rescinded and sold as match day tickets to the delight of the bean counters at the club.
Yeah, one of the lads who got lifted, a regular poster on here, DM'd me this morning. Bailed to appear in Court 22 May, for basically just being in the vicinity of the incident. He was held in Pendlebury nick until 3am this morning. GMP have told him he will not be able to use, transfer or exchange his seat with immediate effect. They have also told him that he cannot attend any game across the UK, including England games. Sounds very much like a Football Banning Order to me, so without a Court decision GMP are handing down FBO's. I question the legality of that.

The club World Cup tickets for Philadelphia you can buy tickets in the City section behind one goal, the Why Dad? section at the other end then everywhere else is general seating. I’m in general seating so I can have a good moan about it on here afterwards.

My post was a bit tongue in cheek but I was getting the message across the club can't have it all ways. They're rapidly alienating legacy fans and I think it's being done deliberately to get rid of them and replace them with tourists. They can't then throw them a few crumbs of cheaper tickets, against lower league opposition, at a shit kick off time and the game being shown live on tv and expect the fans to suddenly feel valued and loyal supporters again and snap up the tickets. See how many the agencies they deal with shift for this one.

As I mentioned in a post on the “tickets to away fans” thread, one thing I saw yesterday for the first time was a tour group of 50 middle aged/elderly Chinese being sheparded into EL1 by their tour guides. Half of them looked a bit confused where they were going tbh! Whilst I saw a lot of evidence some blues must have sold on tickets to individual tourists yesterday, this level of block booking can only have come from the club. Seemed to be going into 101. Never seen it before with adults, only school parties.
