Away fans / tourists in home sections

I was directly behind this person. He didn't jump up and celebrate, he just got his phone out and started filming their fans celebrate. It was a stupid thing to do, but I think he was probably a tourist who didn't understand fan culture here.

Got his phone slapped out of his hands, his glasses got launched. He was being absolutely pummelled for about 2 minutes before the stewards came to rescue him. Most of the people throwing digs came from other areas of the stand to hit him without knowing what had happened.

I felt like I should step in and try and help him, but it was a lynch mob. Thought I'd be battered by other City fans if I did. Was so uncomfortable to watch. Club needs to sort it out or it will happen time and time again.

For me personally - I wouldn't spunk £35 on a membership to go to the occasional game, ergo I can't get a ticket for Plymouth.
People vote with their feet with this sort of stuff.
I hope families actually get tickets for this and can sit together with other Blues.
Based on Plymouth supporters comments regards away support though I think you'll find loads of them all over the place!!!!

The 2 paragraphs quoted seem to contradict each other, but just my interpretation
I accept my two paragraphs were contradictory to an extent, but we have lots of fans who seem to moan about prices but reject low-cost games so we have to offer them in bulk to ST holders.
If we've pissed off the entire long-term support, and much of the potential new support, then we're stuck with bloody tourists.
As an aside I know a rag who takes his lad to a few games a season at the swamp. League Cup, Thursday League, that sort of thing. But he's never been a regular, knows he won't get tickets for "big games" and is happy to go when he can. Is that the sort of person City now want as supporters for games the tourists aren't interested in?

Unfortunate really, if he wasn't jumping up and down it's uncalled for

They see a commotion, punches being thrown and assume scousers are kicking off so pile in to help. It's unfortunate and I don't like seeing loads into one person but exactly the same would have happened to a city fan in the Liverpool end at Anfield. That doesn't make it right of course.

Fair play to those stewards for shielding him the best they could. Where the fuck are the cops when it kicks off? There were enough of them behind the stands.

Guy definitely didn't deserve what happened to him

But I wonder how the hell you end up in the area of the stadium where the most passionate home support is and you just have zero understanding of your surroundings

Not sure if this was mentioned as this link is from 11 days ago but Spurs put out a statement about the same thing happening there.
Looks like Tottenham are taking it seriously. Do they not have links with ticket agencies, or do they explain responsibilities, such as ground regulations to these agencies before they allow them to sell tickets?
A mate was in the home section for our away game there towards the end of last season and stayed safe by not celebrating our goals. He was sat above the away section and sent a great "limbs" video of our fans celebrating.

I wonder if there's something similar going on at City where the agencies simply don't care enough about following whatever rules the club sends them

And to an extent I get it if the club are going to be this lackadaisical about policing the home end

Speaking to a mate who works as security and was there yesterday.

Probably already mentioned but the club did apparently make efforts to decline tickets being bought with Liverpool post codes. Seems to be an issue whereby season ticket holders are reselling their tickets for double or triple the price.

Not sure if this is actually what’s happening.

Not much they can do about Irish or Norwegian postcodes to be fair.

I have an immediate ban, based on the allegation.

If proved, I will be banned.

Therefore, the consequences of the alleged criminal conduct are the same, guilty or not.

So, doesn't say I'm guilty? Yes it fucking does.

Proving innocence should be a right to any allegations. They word strongly to try to force admissions of guilt to nullify due appeal.

I don't get how they're doing this yet letting people wearing Liverpool hats walk right through the home end turnstiles.

Reselling is granted slightly more difficult to deal with...but you could catch a lot of it just by visiting the five or six largest reselling sites and making notes of which seats are being re-sold.

I get that some people who buy tickets on reselling sites are actually City fans but if THIS many are going to tourists or away fans you'd think the club would start tracking it
