Away fans / tourists in home sections

It’s a short term money grab in my opinion.

Surely you’d want kids in the local area attending games. There the future of the club, especially when we stop winning things.

We’ve got kids in beswick who have never been to a league match - how is that right?

City in the community - except for the poor locals who we don’t want to attend games.

Logically of course you would as the closer you are to the stadium the more likely you are to be able to attend matches. But it is one big cash grab and the one or twice a season fan is king as they will pay that premium.

The bloke is a victim also of this scam having to pay massively over the odds to guarantee he can get a match ticket for him and his son.

.....but he/she might buy a season ticket et al, for 40 years, rain, shine, good, great, or shit !!

HH Sheikh Mansour's words, along with those regularly by Khaldoon, will be put to the critical test of trust in the coming weeks.

When trust is broken, and words meaningless, there is a paradigm shift in relationships and the former is very hard to regain without huge scepticism and doubt.

A very important tipping is approaching.

I hope everyone at the club is alive to the fact the reputations of the owner and chairman are on the line and will be subject to public scrutiny and account.

He will be a proper blue all his life and his dad is a great bloke, but to me he is being ripped off also, paying over the odds for a ‘package’ just so he guarantees he can get his son a ticket. A victim of the ticketing sites scam like everyone else.

I'm assuming that he didn't keep his gob shut. If that's the case, I'd love to know what he expected. People to shake his hand and say "well done"?

Have to love the idiots in the comments that have never been to a match in their lives, trying to frame this as a problem with our fans specifically when you might have someone swing at you if you're an away fan in the home end at ANY stadium

'but even with local fans we would need the tourists a lot of the time for the complete sell out'

I don't think we would. If tickets were affordable, were available without the gimmick of £35 Citizens cards, £150 Flexi Gold season tickets, families could sit together, etc, we would sell out no problem.

As it is, you have to buy a citizens card to by a match ticket.
You now can only buy a flexi-gold season ticket.
There is little or no chance of a family getting seats together for a home match.(yet tourists can get multiple seats together)
Add football matches being changed and rescheduled for TV.
Poor transport infrastructure.
Worsening traffic.
You can start to understand why local City fans, City families, have given up trying to watch City.

Now we have the added issue of away fans in all over the groun and it kicking off.(North stand on Saturday, etc)

Why would parents want to bring their kids to City matches with all that happening?

Going to a match should be inexpensive, and a fun day out for all the family. Especially for the younger generation of City fans who will be our future support. Or not, as it's turning out to be.
I’ve said this years ago , make tickets affordable for the next generation and we will sell out without a single day tripper entering the ground , the club are missing a real trick here, and groundbreaking in the PL.
You have to question the short sightedness of it all , we discourage the future fans at the expense of this period of success , when it does wain off so will the day trippers.
The club really is missing trick.

This and only this!

In 20 years time when legacy fans have fucked off and the new fans go somewhere else because we are shit, the money will follow them and then we die and rot on the vine because there isn't anyone left to give a fuck about the club.

If we can stop it we need to stop it right now.
I'll be dead in 20 years.
Can you make it 10 years. :-)

Only one reason ££££

Found out something really interesting this afternoon.
The lad in 115 was a City fan.
Not bullshitting, no reason to. Been here long enough to know not but I have no reason to doubt it from my contact. Not a good fucking look blues.
I've heard (from a Blue lifted at the game) that he was an American tourist.

He was told this by the custody sergeant at Pendlebury nick.

They used to give tickets to local schools for free, they did at the one my sister worked at in south Manchester at least. That was a few years ago mind.

I could be wrong, but Clicking on that link - it looks like a money making scheme.
There are 6 free rows of seats that aren't allocated to season-tickets behind me and often there are groups of kids there. It can be bedlam. One day, the chap next to me was talking to the organiser and they said they get a good deal from City. Following the logic of some comments on here, some people might say that they shouldn't come either.

I remember when Tim Cahill scored another last minute winner against City and it kicked off in Block 111. One lad jumped up to have a go at the players but got mistaken for an Everton fan. He got a right kicking and had to show his CIty tattoo on his leg to prove he was a blue.

I learnt my lesson at Stockport away, Jamie Pollock scored in a 2-2 draw and I jumped up in the Cheadle end and got a couple of whacks . Was in Leicester end when Wanchope scored at Filbert Street, Luckily I was at the back and didn’t get sussed but a few City fans got digs further down their stand . Young and naive at the time wouldn’t dream of jumping up now

Are you sure about that. Many seasoncard holders have stopped going to CL and FA Cup games. The ticket prices for some of those games are not that expensive. Who do you think is going to those games? Local people. But if their Asian and buy a half and half scarf, some people think they shouldn't be there. They have every right to be there.

Ideally of course we'd lower the season ticket prices so that seasoncard holders weren't priced out. But I think some of them just can't go anyway because of the transport.

It's far from clear what's going on as no one really knows whether a fan is a tourist or not. Some blues seem to be judging this by ethnicity and that's very dangerous.

You don't think that blues would have gone to the Liverpool and Arsenal game? And stop calling blues racists because they are complaining about being priced out that's just fucking stupid.

The lack of reply to the open letter is criminal. Genuinely concerned for a Plymouth fan this weekend unless the club do something this week.

1894 going on talksport could be exactly what's needed
I honestly think both clubs have fkd up Plymouth fans really wanted to go but the problem was season ticket holders who could not go were getting them for friends family so other people who pay membership were going to miss out so joined the membership scheme say 10 each and bought 3 -4 tickets via cityzens these are people that pay 18 pound a month membership to the club they would like to see the chance of playing the 4 in a row champions and have more affiliation to the club and would at least know who the players are
