Away tickets

At this ‘Ticketing Working Group’ meeting was the question asked about how the tickets that are allocated to the OSCs are decided on? As I’ve asked before is it on a % allocation or just a random number with the favourite branches getting more? It should, to be fair, be on a % of membership surely?

To make it clear if a branch has 100 members & 5% is the allocation (from the OSC pot) then that branch gets 5 tickets. If a branch has 60 members they get 3 tickets.

Personally I don’t think it happens that way & as a SC holder, an OSC member, an OAP & a woman, therefore allegedly represented by 4 people I’d like to think that one of them could please ask that question!!! :-)

I agree
I’ve spoken to a few branch members tonight.
My old branch of 22 gets two tickets
Another branch of 130 gets two
A branch down south with about forty members gets two
The Greek branch gets......two

Anyone going tomorrow, on your way out of the ground count the number of coaches belonging to individual branches.

But the point I'm making that people don't seem to understand is that it IS the system. The OSC are allocated a percentage of tickets and they decide whci hbranches get them and how many each get. The branch then decides how to distribute the tickets they've been allocated. They aren't abusing the system, it's their allocation and down to them what they do with those tickets. I fully accept that people may feel affronted that someone paying £15k a season for the Tunnel Club or branch members with less points than seasoncard holders who missed out on Brighton or Burnley tickets will be going to those games but that's the system as it stands.

Do the OSC allocate tickets to none UK branches?

I wonder if it’s too late to start a West Didsbury branch so I can get a couple of tickets for Burnley tomorrow.

Good luck with that

To be fair to the OSC (and I have been critical in the past) in the days of the 80's and 90's when I got my tickets through the branch to save being outside Maine Road at 5am (though I did for Macclesfield and Wigan in Divvy 3) there were far less branches and far more tickets available due to bigger away end capacity / terracing etc.
Nowadays capacities for visiting fans is on the whole 3,000 and the number of supporters branches growing by the season (I started the Tampa Bay SC last season and we joined this season although I have since buggered off back to Boston and am a member there now!) as well as the number of match going fans has doubled since the 80's / 90's and number of corporates (with access to away tickets) has increased too. So giving a percentage to each branch based on numbers clearly isn't going to work as demand outstrips supply.
