Away tickets

There is no need for supporters club allocations in this day and age. It is simply not a fair way of distributing tickets no matter how many people defend it and fress it up. Somebody please give me a reason why there should be a separate allocation to the the supporters clubs.

This is a fight that needs to be fought on behalf of all season ticket holders

Here’s one Wolfe1988 and I can see arguments on both sides. I reckon there will be about 15,000 Supporter Club Members at Wembley a week on Sunday. If a third dropped out because it was much more difficult to plan transport etc then that’s about 5,000 empty seats for a Wembley Cup Final

I'm not talking about Wembley tickets. That's a whole different entity to the away tickets thread.

Why do we need supporters club allocations for away league, cup and European games?

Supporters Clubs also distribute home tickets.
What do we say to them you can't do that any more home tickets only? And forget the travel arrangements you do..

I answer these sort of questions all the time mate and I can see both sides of it.

It’s not just Wembley though is it. Nine Aways have gone to general sale this season. My mate reckons it’s 10. Our biggest demand away games are the rags, Liverpool (at weekends), Burnley and Huddersfield (and maybe Fulham). Anyone can get to the rest of the games if they have been a regular season ticket holder and gone to aways with minimal points. Huddersfield, Burnley and Fulham might get relegated meaning that calls for radical reform of the ticket allocation system is based on 2 or 3 or possibly 4 League games per season. I think improvements are needed but there is a danger of taking a sledgehammer to crack a nut.

I also think there are bigger priorities for City Matters like addressing the organised touting for home games by ticket agencies.

Another non-valid reason in an away tickets thread.

If you're a supporters club member, you're highly likely to be a club member too either as a Seasoncard holder, Cityzens member or just somebody with a purchase history. I'm sure people are capable of sorting their own home tickets out through official channels.

With regards to travel arrangements, if we're just talking away games, how does a branch who gets allocated 4 tickets for an away game fill a 50+ seater coach? Where do the other 46 people get their tickets from? Travel arrangements is not a valid reason for there to be a supporters club allocation for away matches

But then surely all away tickets should go to points with the exception of the corporate and internal allocations?

I think there are other issues that haven’t really been discussed in this thread.

Here’s one. Why do Slirts Options get such a easy ride but Tommy Cook’s get plenty of grief. Btw I have used both for several European aways and thought they both offer a good service.

The branch I'm in were actually allocated 2 tickets for Newport not 4 however the travel secretary for the whole of the supporters clubs is putting on coaches for Newport away.
Does that answer that question?

I see you are up for looking after the Corporates mate. Which players do you think we will be able to sign if we don’t provide tickets for their families?

Sports options don't appear to have an agreement to sell a plane and take a percentage of an allocation for a Euro away
