i'm just not having it that we let this slip through our fingers. city and pep will know that we need this player. I can see a big pay day for bilbao being the game here.

No...it isn't. To buy a Bilbao player you need to pay the clause. No club is going to pay 70 million euros for him. He'll spend the rest of his career at Bilbao.

He's a Basque player who apparently isn't ready to say goodbye yet. I'm not going to come on here and blame him or call him unambitious, he's adored and honored to play in his homeland and after coming off an injury maybe he feels now is not the right time to move on. Good on him.

I would have loved to have him, but we'll be alright. I think we can all agree we will be challenging for more titles than Bilbao, so once we identify our alternative, or spend the money on other positions, let's welcome those who are ready to put on the shirt. We move on.

I too feel that there is nothing wrong in staying loyal.

However, staying at a club who are never going to compete for the major honours in football is the definition of unambitious.

Well, Well. If he doesn't want to come then we are better off without. Always prefer someone who is desperate to join rather than enticed. Possibly also a bullet dodged, has he recovered from his broken leg and also he only promised potential, hasn't delivered yet.
Do you recall the Dipperpool game after the Final? Our forwards got schooled by there reserve back four, sometimes its how you play not who you have. Pep can make do.

We usually do a deal with the agent and player before making an actual offer my guess is they were happy with it and then went back to there club and asked for a better new deal.

And wasting our time since about March and by all accounts he didn't even tell City that he was going to turn us down. Bit of a dicks move to leave City in the dark like this.

If Pep can give Mangala a brain, we don't need him.

That's an enormous IF, granted.

This always bums me out to read (here and in the press). If you watch all of his interviews, and the way he composes himself, he's one of the most intelligent and hard-working players out there.

Now whether Pep can give him some technical ability, that's another subject. Here's to hoping.
