This always bums me out to read (here and in the press). If you watch all of his interviews, and the way he composes himself, he's one of the most intelligent and hard-working players out there.

Now whether Pep can give him some technical ability, that's another subject. Here's to hoping.
Football intelligence and general intelligence aren't the same thing....

He's a Basque player who apparently isn't ready to say goodbye yet. I'm not going to come on here and blame him or call him unambitious, he's adored and honored to play in his homeland and after coming off an injury maybe he feels now is not the right time to move on. Good on him.

I would have loved to have him, but we'll be alright. I think we can all agree we will be challenging for more titles than Bilbao, so once we identify our alternative, or spend the money on other positions, let's welcome those who are ready to put on the shirt. We move on.
1st sensible post Iv read.
People are acting like we've some kind of devine right to snap our fingers and players should sign of the dotted line.
We've in 4 centre backs with our young lad, and if we add stones then all the better. I personally think full backs needs looking at more than anything, the amount of time Otti and Mang were drawn out of position covering for missing full backs was part of the reason the got so much criticism.
New start, new system, are we now so arrogant about our status that we can't give the lads more than one average season to prove their worth?

I don't think he lacks many technical or physical attributes. He's showcased his ability in flashes in both areas. Where he fails is his reading of the game, concentration, consistency and composure. Hence, the dig about his brain.

It's his brain on the pitch he fails with, not off it.
