Wouldn't touch him until full extent of the injury is known and rehabilitation schedule is identified. Last thing we need is to spend £40m on another crock.

The days of Cruz, Hargreaves and Maicon hopefully all just a distant memory at the club:)

There must be "millions" of the players quoted as being " targets for City " who are shitting themselves now, worrying what injuries are awaiting !

That kind of says a lot then doesn't it?
Laporte and Varane both played in the Spanish League weekly in 2013/2014. Laporte was voted into the team of the year that season. Which is a serious accomplishment, seeing as he didn't play for one of the big 3.

I'd put more into that voting ( which is more about performance) than I would National team call ups, which can be about performance and relationships.

Not saying he is better than Varane here. But him being behind other CBs on the toting pole for the national team may have more to do with a lot more than a lack of comparable or better talent. The club you play for often plays a role in whether you make the national team. Notice how most of the others already play for Top clubs. I reckon if he moves here and earns a starting spot, same will probably happen at the national team level.

No one's questioning his ability. He said he's the best young CB and I simply replied back saying he's not better than varane hence why he's ahead of him in the French squad.

I know a lot has been said about Laporte.

Could a summary of his strengths & weaknesses be provided?

I'm not so sure he has pace or his tackling are upto the standard we require, at the moment. Tackling he can improve on but if he lacks pace & we play a high back line which Pep surely will does that not mean he will be exposed?
