Is he assistant manager now? If they did that then they are basically admitting that Mourinho's transfer policy and player scouting system is - wait and see who Pep wants then try to win them over with big money.
That would reveal more about the club than I suspect they would like people to realise.

Apparently from his time in Spain basically saying he is a very good player having seen him play a number of times. But you are right they seem to be going after our targets no doubt about it.

We will, as we can save a lot of money in tax by paying Athletic the fee directly rather than needing Laporte to trigger the clause himself.they don't wrangle over the fee thats what release clauses are for

Just asking as I went to bed last night reading that he was in manchester and we were on verge of announcing it. Im on shifts and just got up half hour ago.

Far more reliable sources than Stu Brennan have said it's more or less done - I'll side with them until more sources suggest otherwise.
