See Neville telling the rags to gazump us. Let’s hope there is enough in the account :)

Is he assistant manager now? If they did that then they are basically admitting that Mourinho's transfer policy and player scouting system is - wait and see who Pep wants then try to win them over with big money.

That would reveal more about the club than I suspect they would like people to realise.

Will take time as per men

Reports in Spain suggest the deal has been struck, but MEN Sport understands the two clubs are still wrangling over the fee - and the deal may not even get done before next week's transfer deadline.

M.E.N. don't have a clue. Bilbao sources say it's pretty much done. and Bilbao don't really negotiate, pay the buyout clause or no deal

they don't wrangle over the fee thats what release clauses are for

Gary Neville again could not help himself last night, by suggesting United should hijack Citys move for Laporte, how can sky still employ someone to give his opinion on games which involve the scum and us without his biased song sheet He viewed the Sanchez move one way THE RAG WAY LET HIM STICK TO WEST HAM LEICESTER WEST BROM ETC

Apparently from his time in Spain basically saying he is a very good player having seen him play a number of times. But you are right they seem to be going after our targets no doubt about it.

City are the only serious bidders at the moment, despite past interest from Barcelona - and they are being told they would have to stump up his £56.9million release clause, plus another £4.3million in the training fees Bilbao would be due under Uefa rules.

I guess over the extra fee

Number of people who defend him on here as a pundit should hang your heads in shame.

Just asking as I went to bed last night reading that he was in manchester and we were on verge of announcing it. Im on shifts and just got up half hour ago.
Ive looked back few pages, so whats happening?

Latest story from Spain seems to say it's done but he's training with Bilbao this moring whilst the transaction goes through.

Far more reliable sources than Stu Brennan have said it's more or less done - I'll side with them until more sources suggest otherwise.

Our board aren't idiots and will know Athletic don't piss around when it comes to their players. You either pay the clause or you don't get the player.

Not a player I know, but I am excited that Guardiola has been intent on this player for a long time. Just at the right age for MCFC.
