Your argument is that Pep can improve these players or convert Fernandinho.

It's Pep who is pushing for these transfers, so clearly he doesn't agree with your assessment, and that is why we're going to spend on CB's again.

But Txiki & Ferran believed in Mangala and Otamendi, and thats why they spent +70 million pound on them !

Pellegrini and Txiki believed they'd be good purchases for the Pellegrini team, and probably hoped they'd stay a long time. That's completely irrelevant now.

Everyone believed in Mangala & Otamendi at that point. But they couldn't cut it in the prem. It's disappointing I know, but we need to fix the problem nevertheless. Pep is probably gonna be here for 3 years or so, and it would make sense if he doesn't want to be patient with some of the players, so maybe you cannot expect him to suddenly make Mangala a decent passer.

Strange choice of words. Care to elaborate
 
Having midfielders who play between the lines, failing to be picked up by our own midfielders, exacerbated the problem and made our defenders look silly time and time again. Of course they can be improved but no team will look solid if midfielders do not track runners who are pouring through on your defence.

Very simple to blame the back two. What protection were they afforded ? was it simply down to them that we got a hiding in those games .
 
Otamendi started for Argentina couple of nights ago. Mangala in French squad. But they can't play according to some.

I agree with comments about City's midfield. You defend as a team

To play where? Left Back? Filipe Luis is better, Juanfran is hardly bad on the other side (beats Azpilicueta into most Spain squads) and the young full backs are highly rated apparently (haven't seen much of them). Atleti need to start looking at a better no.10 if they want to play Koke centrally and out wide, I'm calling bullshit on this one.
