Him leaving was inevitable. He's been great for us, literally put his body on the line 2 seasons ago during the title run in.

Been a brilliant servant to the club. I can see why a move to Saudi may appeal to him though. 2 or 3 years earning stupid money before going back to Bilbao on a free. He's a class act who could easily play into his late thirties.

Much rather he went there then to a domestic rival.

Fabulous player but just think it’s come to a natural end. Pep loves defenders now who excel at defending but can pass on top of it (aside from Stones who he just loves anyway but is immense all-round) and I think Laporte is passing first then defending after.

Too many high profile errors IMO. He had his run of games in 21/22 after the Dias-Stones partnership the season before and didn’t take his chance. Since then it feels like he’s been on the peripheral and he’s too good for that. Loved watching him when he first came, genuine Rolls Royce of a player.

One thing that’s good, though, is that he’s not seen his arse (overtly) like a certain Portuguese fullback did which is always a plus. He’s been positive in posts online and actively supporting the team and his teammates. As he should.

Good luck to Ayme. Has been brilliant for us.
Only a matter of time before Saudis force themselves into the CL.
With the calibre of players signing for them I can see them being v competitive.
No doubt they will be after signing top management including Pep and that’s a worry.
