Ballon d'or 2013

Last year was the best personal year of CRonaldo's career. He still scored 17 fewer goals and had 23 fewer assists than Messi did in 2011. And i know it's a running joke on here, but, Messi does track back and find himself tackling players for the ball and starting attacks from deep in his own half. He doesn't dive even a tiny fraction as much as CRonaldo does (unlike the rest of his Barcelona team mates as there is an awful diving culture at Barca which i detest and am not looking forward to us playing against) and he doesn't start slapping the floor and looking like he's about to break into tears when a ref doesn't fall for his dives.

Messi is the greatest football player of his generation and arguably all other generations (as i think football is light years ahead of what it was decades ago).

CRonaldo is a fantastic, amazing even, football player. He may well sit at #2 in that list behind Messi but he is behind Messi and even if Messi never finds his form from 2008-2012 ever again in his career, CRonaldo will have to improve an awful lot further to be considered a better player than Messi ever was.

Ronaldo relies on his physicality to beat players. He uses his strength and pace to beat players and he has a great kick and freekick on him. But in a few years his body will slow down and he won't be half the player he was. Messi is just born to play football. His close control and dribbling ability will still be there when he's in his 30's and so he will still be beating players for fun as he has such a quick footballing brain. I agree he is better than some of the stars from yesteryear and I don't think I will ever see a player as good as him in my lifetime.

Oh give me a break Mr. Platini! Ribery is nowhere near as good as Messi and Ronaldo. He was lucky to be there. Ibrahimovic would have been more deserving.

Since when were goals and assists the only two statistics that went into measuring who is the better 'individual' player.

<a class="postlink" href="http://l3.yimg.com/bt/api/res/1.2/zxjp1KKdRY4de3mR6svl2Q--/YXBwaWQ9eW5ld3M7cT04NQ--/http://media.zenfs.com/en-GB/blogs/pitchside-europe/OptaBallon.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://l3.yimg.com/bt/api/res/1.2/zxjp1 ... Ballon.jpg</a>

The fact is goals and assists themselves out of context are meaningless; they should be weighted as well based on the situation i.e. goals scored while trailing or in important CL games should weigh more. The fact is everyone who argues that last year Ronaldo/Messi were INDIVIDUALLY better than Ribery only look at goals and assists whereas as we all know there are a lot more features of a footballers game that can categorize him as a superior individual footballer. Ribery was superior to Ronaldo in lots of aspects.

Them chairs look a bit uncomfortable for what was supposed to be a posh 'do'.
Did they invite too many people and had to raid the store room?

That was before it turned awkward..

I would say equally that giving it to messi the year before was the wrong decision by that logic proelia, that year ronaldo was the match winner in all the big games and barca won Fuck all.
edit: that's an answer to the article, not your post, I know you didn't write it.

Never did and never will care about these stupid election-competitions. But I must admit I loved the critical notes born out of disappointment by that lot in charge at Bayern. Sore losers in every way.
