If Bellingham gets it it’s a shambles. Yes he’s won the champs league & La Liga as top scorer but he’s not done much else. Was shite in all the latter games of champs league, scored less than Haaland & Foden & 50% of Haaland last season when he was classed a tap on merchant.

Rodrygo was also superb & Modric would do more in his 10 minute cameo.
 
It’s remarkable really that he’s even in contention, let alone a close second favourite.

The award is almost exclusively given to an out and out attacking player. Whether it’s a forward or a creative midfield player.

Not sure how many, if any, primarily defensive minded players have ever won it?

There is no vote splitting. People can give all 5 votes to 5 separate real madrid players. It doesn't split the votes.
 
I haven't watched a more complete player than Rodri. Can defend, can pass the ball, can create, can score huge goals.

Modric is a great, no doubt, but Rodri beats him both defensively and offensively.
