Had NO idea as to what "meniscus" was until I looked it up :

"the curved upper surface of a liquid in a tube"

Well thats as clear as fooking mud !!!

Wrong type of meniscus.

A meniscus is a crescent-shaped fibrocartilaginous structure that, in contrast to articular disks, only partly divides a joint cavity. In humans it is present in the knee, acromioclavicular, sternoclavicular, and temporomandibular joints.

Just been posted on twitter by Daniel Taylor of the Guardian.

"Mario Balotelli having operation in Milan on damaged knee cartilage tomorrow, story on Guardian website shortly"

Good job Rocky stayed.

i think he has be retained just for this.
At a guess he'll be out for 2 months then. Meniscus is a special cartilage in the knee. Can cause locking of the knee which is what balo complained about - I think it was also what was bothering Richards at the end of last season. His knee kept locking and he'd go down in a heap

Fuck me !!
Wish I hadn`t mentioned it now !! lol
Even less clearer now !

i found it odd at the time when mario actually mentioned a long standing knee problem when he got injured in the Europa game!

why in the hell did he not get this sorted sooner?

This type of injury can be quite serious especially for an athlete, depending on the size of any tear/rip, Generally if its large a fair bit of the cartlidge is removed... that can then cause shit as time goes on.

Just hope its a fairly small tear that's more of a niggle than anything too big.

I knew from the moment that Balo was screaming in agony at the anterior draw test that this would either be an ACL or something else sinister. What a big shame, at least the lad gets some time back in italy, take the limelight off things for a while and be with his family.

so he got his injury 4 weeks ago, and now decide to get him fixed up, fucking hell city sort it out
