And if we did that and didnt replace him would we have won the league.

We're not going to agree on whether its stupid or not to leave a space in the squad during a title run in so we can maybe sign someone eight months later. I think it is, you obviously think otherwise.

No evidence to suggest that's the case.

Real get by with 2 strikers plus the odd Ronaldo fill in. I don't feel its s stretch to hope that 3 strikers fill in the role of 1 striker (4231). We should sign a wide atm player which frees Tevez up and we are lacking anyway hence why I and others said Isco or alternative.

Chelsea won the CL with Drogba and a poor Torres, Anelka played wide. United went to wire with us with no RVP. I don't get this absolutely dire need for 4 strikers. Guidetti will most likely be available for the run in. Dzeko has moaned about lack of game time and thats without Mario even playing. As I said, I'm not worrying.

Rags had Shrek, Wellbeck, Hernandez and Owen, even though the latter was never fit. This season they've swapped Owen for RVP, so they have 4 strikers.

Not saying we couldn't manage with 3, but we will be one less. And we've no idea when Guidetti will be available or if he'll be good enough to begin with.

Something on espn about reading trying to get guidetti on loan now they have withdrew the bid for ince.

Will be sad to see Crazy Mario go. He'll forever be remembered as part of our new dawn - FA Cup final, 1-6, 'that' pass - and the kids loved his eccentricity but my view of him changed irreparably after the Arsenal game last year; you can NEVER have a player in a team gunning for major honours who cares more about himself than his team mates.

If he had half the application of Jimmy Milner then he'd be worth keeping, but given his history, failure to learn, his extra curricular baggage and narcistic side, it's 'thanks' and 'arrivederci' from me.

An excellent summary. The Arsenal game mostly did it for me. I'm sure he'll be happier in Italy and prosper there. I'd say good luck to him but, with all that fame and fortune, I think he's been lucky enough already.

What I have not noticed anyone say is that this surely makes Mancini's tenure longer and thus beyond this season. No more 'Bobby goes when Mario does'.

Funny how players cut their wages to join the elite clubs. Bollox imo. They get paid one way or another wherever they go .... Or they have useless agents..
Mascherano did same to Liverpool when he joined Barcelona.
