this was brought about by the PFA's ruling that states you cant be fined for totting up of cards, you can only be fined for individual misdemeanours.
if you were in a union at work and something happened that was not in their guidelines, would you expect your union to back you or let it drop
He didn't miss any games for totting up of cards?

He was being fined for missing 11 games through the Liverpool and Arsenal red cards and his stamp on Parker

He wasn't fined for missing games. There is no clause that allows a club to do that. He was find for conduct on the field. Dissent and recklessness I believe are the two areas the club can take action against.

You need to understand the situation better before commenting on it.
So a club can't take action against a player who is unavailable for almost a third of the season due to their own actions?

I think they can

I know it's not just that pass, I was using it as an example and merely 2 posts after my initial one did someone mention it.

THIS season, he has been poor more than he's been good.

We all appreciate what he did last season, but again, that id last season. If anything he should push on and improve since then, but that doesn't appear to have been the case.

And seeking to take the club to tribunal didn't help his cause.

but thats against his unions rules, he had already been fined by the club for the cards

I know what you're saying (bar senial)he can and does frustrate. As I previously posted it's the right to appeal decisions I'm primarily defending as this seems to be what has lit the touch paper on him, and the thread is about the tribunal.

everyone has a right to appeal, even murderers and rapists......or are we saying balo is worse than that?

What??? I am defending it???

see you mario fans are that deluded in your quest to support him, you're attcking each other

I have no problem with him posting it as he is giving his opinion. What I find odd is that he has a problem with people (one in particular it seems in this thread) doing the same, but in support of Mario and claims he is only doing so as he enjoys the aggro.

Just a bit double standard-ie for me.

And as I say, I have no axe to grind with TCIB, he's a top lad.
Blue Purgatory has a history of challenging the poster rather than the topic, I know this first hand.

Otherwise, I understand what you're trying to say.

Lets have it right fudge. You dont like me and I dont like you!

If this season is the best we're going to get from him its a no brainer.

But many feel he's capable of more than he's provided this season.

For me the game time he's had this season isn't enough to convince me that he's become a bad player.

I also think that he has shown a more mature side to his game this season on the pitch so while its not really working for him at the moment I am seeing some development.

He is capable of more and I am confident if given the right amount of opportunity he will deliver more of what he delivered in Euro 2012.

You maybe
But you said most match going fans
How do you know this?
By going to matches
So most people you go to city with week in week out like mario and his performances?
I edited my last comment.
I go when I can. Be honest I went last time and dont remember talking about him. I remember the crowd supporting him when he came on and half the stadium that does sing, singing his name

-- Wed Dec 19, 2012 2:48 pm --

Are you serious?
Yes
Why would I not be

in the pub before the derby, there was 10 of us and only 1 was in support of Mario playing. I would suggest that would be representative of most groups of city fans. The ones that love him just shout a bit louder. And the song SWP eluded to about 'the corner' singing is actually a piss take of his lifestyle, and his shite performance where he said he had hey fever !! with one silly line saying he's f*ckin class to make it rhyme. still a good song

Actually that song was made at the FA Cup Semi Final after he was MotM but either way

No, but although everyone has the right to appeal it doesn't mean that they have grounds to do so.

Mario is guilty of missing 11 games through his own stupid behaviour, something that wasn't influenced by anyone else. And that's what the club was fining him for.

i beg to differ....i would say that in some cases, the ref didnt ref the game, he reffed the players reputation

He missed a almost a third of the season due to his actions.

Surely a two week fine is acceptable?
