Sneijder would be the replacement for Scholes? If the scum got him and a good forward they would be strengthened a lot and on course for another title challenge.

I remember a while ago there was a 'Players you used to like' thread, before they moved to a hated club. I really really hope Sneijder doesn't go on to that list.

#mufc have made a bid of around £29m for wesley sneijder and have enquired about his inter team-mate mario balotelli, also a target for#mcfc
Its James Ducker of the Times, so it won't appear on NewsNow

Daily mail also running with this.....<a class="postlink" href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1292910/Manchester-United-launch-29m-bid-Wesley-Sneijder--eye-Inter-Milan-team-mate-Mario-Balotelli.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... telli.html</a>

United will not get sneijder for 29million, balotelli is different because he didnt play that much of a role in their success and has pissed off a lot of people but is a huge talent, sneijder is key to inter and if they are thinking of selling maicon and balotelli they certainly wont let him go on the cheap.

I would say very recent, however mancini is a very clever guy when the media is concerned.

He likes to put the scent off his true targets, no doubting he would like to sign Balotelli if the opportunity presented it's self but i just feel mancini is good at handling media questions.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has confirmed that his club are interested in bringing Mario Balotelli from Inter to Eastlands, and then pairing him with Edin Dzeko, currently at VfL Wolfsburg.

Balotelli continues to be linked with a move away from the San Siro, with a clutch of clubs reportedly interested, including Manchester United and Arsenal.

Dzeko's future, meanwhile, has been the subject of intense speculation for a while now, with the Premier League often mooted as a possible destination for the Bosnian.

"If Inter sells Balotelli, we'll be there," Mancini told Il Giornale.

"In Dzeko, City have more than a 'simple' interest. Dzeko and Balotelli together to Manchester City? It is a good idea!"

What such an idea might mean for the futures of the striking talents already at Eastlands remains to be seen, but departures look inevitable, with Paraguayan international Roque Santa Cruz perhaps the likeliest to be shown the door.
