Ban Them For Life

Would being a piss head/coke sniffer constitute a medical condition. ;)

No - nor would just being a ****. By medical condition I had assumed those involved could produce a doctors note to say they were compelled to throw cigarette lighters or do monkey chants....i.e. ban the fuckers.

Bolton away years ago (Dunney OG anyone?), I had a coin hit me on the head and draw blood. Hurt like hell. That game I made about £6 from 20ps and 50ps. No need for it at all. I remember being at Old Trafford and a bloody video camera was launched over, probably taken off a PC Plod and it hit the aisle between fans. Very lucky landing indeed.

Like eejits launching stuff, and racists doing their crap version of the YMCA, everything these days is on CCTV, Sky Sports etc - and Joe Public loves a good video call. So, they are doubly thick for thinking someone will like them for their actions and thinking nobody is watchable.

We're all accountable. This is the most accountable age. No need. No room for it. If their employers feel the need to also educate and punish them so be it, but firing them will take away the one worker who should be free every Saturday afternoon, because football has no place for it. The PL, FA and Greater Manchester FA can all ban racists across their grounds too. Harsh? No. It is time to set an example and really kick it out.

I agree with most peoples comments on this post and any body caught throwing articles or shouting any form of racism should be banned for good . At the same time I've never seen so much attention from the media with the words Manchester City . Why is it only negative stories about City go viral . The racism hasn't been proven yet but our fans are already being called racists in the media . You could look through the daily mail all week and you wouldn't find one article about City yet one negative story and its the main front page news . The comments from their readers beggars belief :- all city fans are racists and thugs , deduct them points , kick them out they should already have been kicked out of euro football and on and on . To be quite honest I thick its the media who are the racists . Is it because our club is owned by middle east business people , the American owned clubs don't get this shit

I run my own company. I wouldnt employ him. If he worked for me i would sack him. That would be a business based decision regardless of the ethics.

Me too, zero tolerance means ZERO tolerance, and once it starts to affect their livelihood, people like him may actually think twice and actually start to act like a decent human being, the man's a disgrace and an embarrassment !

With reference to Sterling incident @Chelsea, CPS didnt charge with "racially motivated" crime due to insufficient evidence to meet some threshold?

Chelsea, following the CPS decision not to charge, instigated own investigation and after consulting own lip reading experts banned him for life for

racially motivated abuse., presumably under their own club ground and or ticketing terms and conditions. Mail today says, fan arrested said it wasnt

a racial gesture, just placing his hands in his pockets. I'm not clear whether this statement was made prior to his arrest or not. Be interesting to see

if CPS in this case, following due process, find "evidential threshold" or whatever it's called, met to charge him with a "racially motivated" crime or not.

There was a steward very close to him, just to the right and in front of him who must have seen and heard this guy at some time
The steward appears to be Asian and he will be a key witness..

Personally l am not sure about the fan's arms but the round shape of his mouth looks a big indication of the noise he is making.

His fate is in the hands of the authorities as it should be and not social media and readers of certain tabloids who strangely are also spouting the familiar nastiness to Raheem as well.

It's probably been mentioned on here but if not, few papers going with another video of a lad doing the Aeroplane gesture now.

Only trial by media so far. Many have already found him guilty. I'd like to see the video not just a snap shot that's very suggestive.

Didn't say it wasn't. Just stating a fact. Happened at Old Trafford too. Both City and Utd have dicks chucking stuff at fans and players.

I'd rather be hit with a plastic bottle or lighter than a coin, dart, mobile phone etc
I'll never forget the Luton game in 83 when Pleat ran on the pitch when the final whistle blew. Luton fans were going spare at us in their pen and goading us getting relegated across the thin divide. One menacing looking Luton fan was shaking the bars, he was about 6'-6" with a big mohican dyed Luton colours. All of a sudden he got a dart stuck in the middle his forehead. Bullseye!

I'm not condoning violence, just the way things were back in the days of it.

Whilst I am in no way condoning the actions of the accused and from the pictures it doesn't look good isn't he entitled to a fair hearing if he is charged. On another note did anyone pick up on the lack of action by the stewards who stood by and watched, I wonder he they saw or heard anything and how come if we are all subject to searches were flares let off in the ground. Bad day all round and not helped by the actions of a few on both sides

Watched the video this morning for the first time - totally missed the incident live to be honest. If he's saying it wasnt a racist gesture then, after seeing the footage, I think there is insufficent evidence to prove it was. He could be putting his hands in his pocket or making an emotive gesture which isn't racist. How do you prove either, and in this country it is innocent until proven guilty. Not sure if there is any sound with the video either, only seen the visual, maybe that makes a difference? Hope those stewards around him have a clear memory of what they saw and heard, that coudl help get to the truth.

Hopefully everyone can take a deep breath this Monday morning and do this properly. If he has done it then proving it will be hard, but on the other hand the club and others may choose to take action anyway. But regardless, I very much dislike theis trial by social media and would happily see those who publish names etc dealt with harshly also. They could be ruining not just his life, but that of his partner, child and family. Of course he is going to deny it, he stands to lose everything, but what if it was a misinterpreted gesture?

Regarding football's racism problem in general, i feel there are two issues. The first is the underlying racist tendancies of some fans coupled with the exposure to the subject recently. Dealing with that needs education and, certainly, visible punishment. Although i and many others disike it, the reaction to this indicent on social media probably means that the likelihood of a racist incident again at City this season, is less. Not that you'd expect it normally anyway, but it is now shockingly evident to all, especially in and around Manchester and Manchester CIty, of the consequenses of such actions - unemployment, loss of your family, exclusion from the club you follow and personal abuse for you and your loved ones, mental anguish. And that is regardless of whether he meant it or not - he was percieved to have meant it.

But the other is, knowing the above is factor and not pretending it doen't exist, the FA and GMP have a duty of care to the fans and players themselves to try and prevent such incidents. Racism won't stop overnight, but you can limit its potential to be visible. As alcohol removes inhibitions then it is always likley that alcohol will make someone with the above triats more likley to expose their inner feelings and so something like this. Therefore, it is perfectly reasonable, if not a neglect of duty to do so, for those officials respsonsible to put the brakes on a late afternoon Saturday kick off.

This did cross my mind when they were discussing the situation on the BBC this morning and everyone was condemning it as though it was fact when, if there are to be charges, it needs to follow the proper course. I wouldn't want an innocent man being accused of something he didn't do nor a guilty man getting away with something because he didn't get a fair hearing.
