Bananas

I remember being at Watford in the early 80”s (courtesy of @blue corby ) Cheers Steve!
I had an inflatable Black Gorilla but someone had an inflatable Fried Egg. To hear the entire City end chanting
‘Fried Egg, Fried Egg etc will always stay with me

“Arsenal became the first club to ban the bananas, on the grounds they obstructed spectators”

Always been fun that lot.
May 1988, final game of the 87/88 season at Crystal Palace, the craze was just taking off at City via the Blue Print fanzine, with every other club's fans unaware of it....
The police at Palace decided that the bananas were racist towards Palace's black players....
Having just bust a gut blowing up my 6 foot banana on the supporter's club coach, to be told by fellow Blues that the police were not letting bananas in, I deflated it, shoved it down the jeans, entered the ground and amongst the many hundreds of City fans, blew it up and proudly waved it around!

Has anyone any photos from the West Brom night game. A mate of mine was in the Home end and said it was the funniest thing they had ever seen there. Seem to recall Frankenstein outdid the Newcastle Brown Ale bottle and maybe dinosaur got involved ( that last one may have been the beer talking)

Paddling pool at Birmingham away being carried around with a couple of blokes in it. Different times eh

Should have an inflatables game soon.

Liverpool away would be a good one, our atmosphere is always shit there in the away end but it might create something a bit different.

That was one of the best nights away ever, I seem to recall the game stopped for a min or two whilst the players watched the battle of the toys.
