Banners - all gone for good?

Slightly different topic - but for anyone south of the half way line - there was a giant "Aerial" towering above the North Stand - must have been outside at the back of the stand - at a guess about 80 feet high - Any idea what that was.??

That was a key part of my hearing aid, so sorry if its presence obstructed your view or offended you in any way.

Its actually a giant translator for Luis Suarez, so for every time Negredo scores a goal for us he doesn't think its a formal greeting or welcome in Uruguay.

All I will say is thank god that Didsbury Dave is not in charge of the club! I think the match day 'experience' that the club is creating is fantastic and I would bet stats around arrival at the ground prove that to be the case.

The fact is that if you are simply there for 90 minutes of football then turn up in your seat 2 minutes before kick off and go and grab a beer and chat to your mates in the concourse at half time.

The innovative approach that the club are taking to make football a family experience and a day out is fantastic. Keep it up City,

Back to the topic however it would be good to know what is happening with the banners.

Those with a problem with it are the grumpy victor meldrews in our support.

The entertainment will be here to stay because the club now cater for families and children and not just those that wanna get pints and turn up with 5 mins to go to sit arms folded all night.

The pre-match stuff is fantastic. The more it pisses off those of a sensitive disposition, those who embarrass easily, those who cringe because they are frightened they might be associated with it, and somehow it reflect upon what other supporters think of them, the better. :-)
Ha ha correct skas

In fact I'd have the camera zooming in on people all round the ground at half time,
Then it stops hopefully on Dismal, and Leslie crowthers voice bellows out of the tannoy COME ON DOWN
Trundle down to the pitch with everyone clapping to collect his prize.

Hugh Ferris would be a perfect host for "The Price is Right".

Fans could value players rather than toasters and electric whisks though.

We were all kids once and never needed any of this bollocks to get us hooked on going to the match. Is this generation of kids really so vapid that they have to have manufactured 'entertainment' going on every single second of the day?

I really do hope they come back, they can't have been taken down for advertising reasons because City never had any issues prior to this season. They were a great asset to the identity of the Etihad as much as the Arsenal ones are for the Emirates.

As for match entertainment I do not mind at all, as long as they let us sing Blue Moon before kick-off like we did previously then I'm fine with it. That singer they had out really threw us all off

I want to know what happened to the trumans for steel banner? (and 'Forward with Negouai' for that matter)

According to the club, Trumanns for Steel "perished", although I was always a bit scpetical about the explanation given. Here she is in all her glory:

trumannsforsteel.jpg

and here is the explanation behind the banner for anyone unfamiliar with it: <a class="postlink" href="http://www.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/Fans/TrumannsForSteel.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/Fans/Tru ... Steel.aspx</a>.

We never actually got round to making a Forward With Negouai banner, more's the pity. Read more here: <a class="postlink" href="http://www.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/Fans/ForwardWithNegouai.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/Fans/For ... gouai.aspx</a>

And whilst we're on a nostalgia trip, here's the first ever Bluemoon banner from 2004:

I think that might actually still be in my cellar somewhere, waiting for the day we sign another player with the initials SWP.

" Trumanns For Steel" fantastic, bring it back. While we are at it I wonder if we could bring back a "Stardrops" ?

I really couldnt give two fucks about what happens or not.

I go the game and have a beer and a chat til its KO time then i watch 45 mins of footy and go get a beer and pie and then watch 45 more minutes of footy and go and have some more beer.

A banner or somebody singing or a sealion doing a clapping routine makes no difference to my expectations of the match going experience. I go for the footy and to support my team.

Bastards, did I miss that ? can the 1894 lot ask the club to bring that back for Hull, oh and can we have piped music immediately after we score ?
