Bar service at CoMS

So how did everyone find the service tonight?
I know it was only half capacity, but I did notice at half-time the bar between 216-217 had a load of half poured pints that they topped up when ordered.
Also seemed to be more staff on than usual.

To the OP how did the meeting go?
No problems tonight for me - but then I did go to the bog while my mate queued up and shelled out for the drinks - lol.

The bottle bar was shut in Block 211.

Now, I don't know how much they pay people behind the bar but it cannot be much more than the minimum wage. It would have probably have cost them less than £100 to man the bar all night and how much would they have taken to cover that?

In the end, there was chaos at the bar further down and dozens of people who would have bought drinks didn't. I can guarantee that the amount of people who walked away would have easily have covered the wages to open the other bar.

We might be the richest club in the world but we still won't spend £3 when we can get away with spending £2.99.

well back to Bert trautmann 140 for me. Was quite empty and staff seemed to be mostly English.
I got an English guy who I had to explain 7 times to what I wanted. He must've been havin a real shit day.
Me 3 pints of Fosters and 2 meat and potato pies please.

He starts to pour then asks. ''What was that again?.''
I repeat. He says ''2 pints and how many pies?''
Again I repeat. Twice cos he mishears.
Another girl helps pour 1 pint. then puts it down with the two he's done. He takes my money gives me my change then walks of to serve others.
I ask where my pies are He says sorry then gives me the pint he was pouring for the other guy. I say ''no pies. I ordered 2 pies''
So he goes and starts openin the fridge. Then clicks and opens the warmer.
Eventually he gets my pies.

I felt for the guy. But here was me moanin about the Non English speakers.

Anyway. No real way to gauge. It wasn't as busy as usual. Got served really easy.

Hope you enjoyed my lil story. Ha. If not sod ya.

The worst ever was Barcelona!!

Only had a choice of 3 soft drinks and non alcoholic beer - which ran out
A sausage on a roll and that was it(have seen better hygiene on Salford precinct)

The worst thing was 2 people around 70-80 ish with no feckin till(took 2 mins for the old guy to add up a coke and a fanta)

haha "you got me singing the blues"

All that is needed to improve the bars is a structured system and que barriers.

Need to take a leaf out of the kebab and pizza places in town. They have one guy on the til, takes your order, shouts the order, asks for the money, gives you your change and in a few mins you have your food. At Eastlands it would be different because you don't have to wait for anything to be cooked, it is all pre-cooked.

How it should work is really easy, there should be three types of people who work in one bar.

1) Tillers - a designated person who works at each till who takes your order, shouts it out and sorts the money out.
2) Food/Beer getters - Those who get whats shouted and bring it to the counter.
3) Cooks - I'm assuming they are cooked in the bars?

Getting served for something should take no more than 20 seconds.
Barman "What can i get you"
You "Two pints, two cheesburgers and a fanta"
Barman "TWO PINTS, TWO CHEESBURGERS AND A FANTA, that's £11 please mate"
You "There you go"
Barman "£4 change and heres your food, NEXT PLEASE"

Simples! At the moment it's give your order, he goes to get it, gets one thing at a time and then has to wait to use the til.

Also as someone else has said, maybe get some vending machines in to take the pressure of the bars? Sometimes i only want a coke (£2.20 rip off i might add) but can't be arsed queing nearly 25 mins and missing parts of the game for it. If i could simply go to a vending machine, put a quid in and get a coke that would be great!

Should've popped through the barrier with me & FC. We had waiter service flogging Estrella in our bit mate. Or smuggled your cooler bag in :-)

they are not allowed to leave the tops on its the same in all football grounds !!!!

I know bezer - I`ve been to football grounds all across the country.
My question still stands - do people really go to the trouble of bringing
a bottle top into the ground with them?

I do, i only get bottles of pop to sip during the match, if i pay £2.20 for a bottle of pop i at least want the option of not holding it in my hand for 90 mins.

That's nothing I bring two crystal cut glasses for ones self and my wife, we couldn't possible drink from those plastic containers that those dirty staff have mauled. The thought of it makes one feel quite dreadful.
