Bar service at CoMS

All the excuses in the world don't change the fact that I paid £5 for a burger and chips that was stone fucking cold last night.

Should have taken it back really, but the girl who served me was so vacant (but English) that it took her about two minutes to work out my change from a tenner.

Dreadful. Inexcusable really.

The most shocking thing is that we actually have a catering manager! Would never have believed for a second that someone is actually running this shambles.

Why not have a tab? You go to a game, you swipe for what you buy with ur ticket or another card the club supplies u with. No cash nothing it just goes to your account and both parties get a receipt. Then after the match the club emails you asking if you want to pay for it now or keep it on the tab till the end of season. Once the season ends you must pay anything you owe on the card. You could even put it to your direct debit, just makes things a little quicker no?

Buy know pay in May bars. Not going to happen.

Got some chips last night at HT, £2.20!

Waited 2 minutes for them, after all that they were quite cold, couldn't be arsed going back because it was hammered.

I went to tony's chippy at 7.15 prior to the game, the queue was about 50 yards out the door, i wish i had queued up now.

I work in health and safety for a large company, and to pin the lack of resolving these issues on health and safety grounds is a load of rubbish, just an easy get out, that they hope no-one will argue with, there is always a way around something to make it work but also for it to be safe if you can be arsed thinking about it. Surely a barriered queing system with regular fold open exit points (in case of emergency) is far safer than 300 people pushing and pulling to get to the front of the queue, it would also reduce the amount of people that must get burnt every week having their hot drinks nudged whilst trying to exit the area after paying.

I thought we had a stadium manager who controlled health and safety, surely it is his job to help ease the councils health and safety concerns but still ensure we get what we require.

I'd be more than happy to argue the case with the council on it free of charge, if it makes everyones match day experience a bit better.

The case of the beer cellar being small but changes not being able to take place due to health and safety is also baffling considering lifting a beer barrel over 18 others would be considered a high risk and need rectifying. (shouldn't have raised this as we will probably have no beer now they realise that and put a stop to it).

1) nice one for bothering to contact club when i never. I have not used the catering/ bar service at COMS for last 2seasons. But i did perserve for couple season before even though i found every aspect bad. Take it it hasn't changed then. I don't mind queing, but won't put up with rest. My regular experience: a single pint of the foul tasting beer made me ill (if i actually drank it), the 'hot' food was always cold and the staff regulalry gave both wrong change and food (pies).

2) Sorry I'm not helping with suggestions, i'm just wondering why catering at maine road was so much better? I always used bars on lower kippax at MR cos i would rather give club my money than pub chains. But i would take some convincing to use those at COMS again. It's not just the money it's rushing to the game and then going hungry or thirsty cos of shit service.

One thing Dubai has traditionally been extremely shit at is organising live events, but they usually manage to get the bars right.
Probably quite easy when no one drinks alcohol to be fair.
Really? I must be living somewhere else then

What's the world coming to?

I asked for a side order of oysters and champagne at the game last night and was told 'we don't do that here', I was more than a little miffed.

Theres a similar place just on the outskirts of Manchester that would probably serve that sort of thing.
