Barca ticket prices announced

Why are people going for Messi? I couldn't care less, I would rather have Aguero. The fact is Uefalona would hate it if we won this and I can't wait to see Platinis fat face when we knock them out. If you're going for the day out thats a total joke to be honest.

I can't grasp the reasoning behind some peoples lack of enthusiasm ahead of this game. It's like a lot of you actually want us to be shit!
For me mate not prepared to pay £150 to watch a shit game of football first leg of a corrupt competition. Just dosnt float my boat I'm afraid .the lads season ticket is £125 for 19 games

If cost and affordability are the main factor preventing someone from going to this then I can completely understand. That's the clubs problem because they set the prices, not EUFA. All this stuff about the competition being corrupt is just stupid though - It's obviously set up to suit the 'elite' at this moment in time, but they are changing that next season so it suits the current best teams. I just feel like we're cutting off our nose to spite our face by avoiding this competition. Despite what anyone on here says, it's the biggest club competition in the world, and if we want to continue to do well domestically we NEED to improve in Europe. This competition pays for our star players, and being a genuine contender attracts people to the club.

Think about it, your kid is going to tell his children and theirs that he watched Messi in the flesh - twice!! I'd have given my left nut to be involved in the Champions league a few years ago, now I feel we take it for granted!

(My rant isn't at you btw, just venting in general!)
When I see a group with barca,Munich, juve, real in it I will beleive its a proper competition. As it stands now the other two teams in the group might have a chance of winning their home game but very little chance of getting enough points to qualify. Over 2 legs the first game is all about not letting the away team score and coupled with stop start refereeing is usually pretty pointless.

I decided to skip it in the end. As much as I love City, we all have limits on what's worth paying, they just vary up and down throughout one's life. It's worse when you've got two or more tickets to buy.

In any case I have Sky and can see the shocking refereeing better from there!

That will be tricky seeing as the home leg is live on ITV.

Maybe another factor why ticket sales seem to be piss poor ?

This sentence contradicts the rest of your post and sums up the whole Champions League for me. Its a tourist attraction, and this game will be full of tourists wanting to see Messi and take a picture of (mainly) the Barcelona players and see an entertaining game of football (which it won't be), rather than being desperate for a Manchester City win, like everyone sat in a home seat should be.

It doesn't contradict anything I've said. As a fan I want to see City win, but I also want to see them playing against arguably the best player that's ever been involved in football. I suppose I could have elaborated on that point and said he's seen Messi play in the flesh 'against City'.

I do get the point you're trying to make though, saying the atmosphere at CL games is different because of the different 'type' of supporters there, but that's something we've brought on ourselves by not wanted to go to the games. If more genuine City fans went then there would be less of the Selfie Stick brigade around - It's not helped by the poster above, for example, taking two tickets away from City fans to give them to his mates who don't even like City :S

Put it this way, you don't get Liverpool fans saying 'I don't go to Champions League games because I don't like the different types of people that go'. Also the point about the football being boring is completely down to perspective, I enjoy the champions league a lot more, tactically it's on a completely different level to domestic games, which I find intriguing. Also, I for one didn't find any of our champions league games (especially at home) boring this season, look at the Munich game!

I think some people need to be honest and ask themselves the following - if City got to the Champions League final, would you want to go? If you would, then maybe you should reconsider the resentment you show towards it at the moment.

I am probably going to watch on tv. I have only been to 7 games this season so far including 2 of those away despite having a season ticket. A multitude of factors, watching my daughter play football on a Saturday has been more enjoyable, was away for a few of the xmas games, couldn't be arsed messing about sorting tickets for a couple and also the cost in some cases. I can afford it but would rather than spend the money on something else these days. - I looked at taking my dad and the 3 kids to barca and it was approaching 200 pounds. I would rather go to Chester zoo for the day or something. Plus the atmosphere has been dire this season. I left early vs burnley, Chelsea and Cska as I was bored! Been a huge comedown in performance from last season. Not going to bother with a season ticket next season as I can enjoy doing more fun stuff. And maybe even going to a random lower league game. Unfortunately the matches have felt a little bit like a chore this season at times!! I think the only 2 I have really enjoyed were the rags and bayern games. City can't take loyal fans for granted. (Match going fan since 1983)

I know the feeling.

Some days I just wish City had proper ticket exchange system that worked so that I could opt out when I've got other shit on that is more important.

Before anyone presses the Quote button, I aint having ago at City, just expressing a wish. Today I found out the Rags are charging fans £37 to watch the FA Cup replay against Cambridge. It's things like that make me grateful I chose City.

Try cityticketx on twitter they advertise for people that want to get rid of there tickets as a one off for face value or less

Many thanks! I didn't know this existed.

Ok, pay for my match ticket and my tram ticket and I'll happily go watch FC Barca who we played last year and I adored for years but when I stepped behind the curtain and went to the away match last year I realised the truth - they're just the same as all the other fucking **** clubs that UEFA love. (Barcelona the city and the trip was brilliant.)

If we were playing another club I'd happily go. But we aint so I'm quite happy sitting in my armchair, with a beer, with a smile on my face because I'm watching it via a stream and UEFA aint getting a single penny from me. The money that I have saved I will use to be able go to more matches next season in the cups.

It's nothing to do with City being shit or wanting them to be shit. It's all to do with money. It says a lot about football when Cambridge United were desperate for a FA Cup replay against the Rags as it is expected to be worth more than £1m, which they plan partly using to purchase new fucking toilets: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30981713

P.S. I know the structure of my sentances is shit, but I can't be arsed.

*High fives Drogba* *Rant over*
