Barcelona Away Stories

Just got back now, what a great trip. We went to all the sights and spent Tuesday afternoon in the Cathedral, managed to obtain some really good brass rubbings. We also saw a performance of Swan Lake at the theatre, so wonderful, the acoustics were heavenly. We shopped at the local market for some fresh fruit and made a delightful smoothie for our half time refreshment, unfortunately this was confiscated at the turnstile but I understand the H & S issues. The Catalunians are such wonderful people and my thanks to the family we undertook the exchange with.

Steady on old boy ,"managed to obtain some really good brass rubbings" did you say ,one could get into serious trouble for attempting what you stated.

A credit to the club you are mate and a breath of fresh air to hear stories from a different perspective.
Had to be said before peeps start to berate you.
Too much emphasis nowadays on bouncing up and down getting wankered or pill'd up whist abusing Catalunyan tramps and making the place look like a scene from a Delhi slum
Never saw one person use the bins.
Glad I don't speak Catalan as I would hate to think what they thought of us all
Congratulations anyway to Barcelona for a fine display of football wizadry
Never been to the opera but its on my bucket list.

Absolute bollocks, cos it was Puccini's Tosca at the theatre.

Had a great 3 days stayed on the ramblas didnt see any bother at all . Met a great bunch of lads in the square on tuesday afternoon and spent the evening with them in the wild rover . On Wednesday met up with another group and had a good afternoon with them as well as meeting up with the lads from night before. All in all a fantastic 3 days met some great people so from me and the wife thanks to all who made it such a great trip for us both .

That trip was a special one. Barcelona is wonderful at the day. At nights it turns into a shithole. Wallet and IPhone robbed. Kicked some asses after robbing, but didn't get the things back, obviously.

Enjoyed the time with all the Blues. Big big friends. Had a good laugh even after the shit happened.

Different bloke from the one in vid, the one I seen at very very top were more inline with corner flag, way way left from ya vid.
Yes, he was sat near me, right at the top, just in front of the "Dukinfield" flag. Apparently, he fell asleep and fell down the stairs! The paramedics were called, but his mate managed to keep them away, saying he'd be OK.
He told me he was just pissed. A few minutes later, he wandered past me, totally out of it, and disappeared. His mate went spare when I told him that he'd just walked past.

Only went to la Rambla during the day. A restaurant owner told us to stay away at night as it was too dangerous, so we took his advice. My mate found several bars on the internet before we went, that sold locally made beer. Went to 3 of them, good beer, especially at The Cat near an Irish bar, Dunne's(?), and had my very first Vegan burger. Very nice, but it won't replace meat in my diet.

Missed the first 5 minutes, despite getting to the ground at 8:10, and the attitude of the stewards and police were disgraceful. It seemed that the police were trying to provoke a reaction, as several had their faces covered, so that they could not be identified on CCTV, and the stewards were blaming the police for not opening all the gates!

Barcelona itself is a nice place to visit, people very friendly, but their stadium, especially the away supporters bit, needs a complete renovation. With all the nationalities we encountered, it was like a typical match day at the Swamp.
I were stood behind makin all the jokes bout it bein a shite Crystal Palace n' a shite Boundry Park etc lol

Back round Ramblas in the nite, dint find it no more dangerous than most inner cities personally, plain clothes dibble gettin a tad over-zealous bout the noise etc, the brass looked harder than the pickpockets n' bag snatchers.

Ended up suppin in Wild Rover.

On a different note, hordes of us on the metro from ramblas to the match, someone had heart attack...

Great in the Wild Rover in there 4 nites on the bounce and the afternoon of the game landlord and the Bouncer were sound even got a couple of drinks on the house when he served me,

Apart from all u bastadas chanting Uwe Rosler at me!
