They did 2 years ago. Pretty much the same team.

How does that compete with International teams who won world cups and continental trophies within the same period?

Or clubs that won 2-5 European titles back-to-back?

Barcelona are the best in Spain, but outside of Madrid and a few others, there isn't any real competition, and they've still proven themselves to be vulnerable to giant killers such as Hercules.

Its a completely different era - infinitely more difficult to win the CL than it was the old European cup. Note how nobody has ever retained the CL. I read something like 40% of European Cup victories before the CL were to retain it.

I can't stand the commentary on sky when barca are playing because all they do is cream over them even when they're not playing well, but to be fair there's only so much you can say before going back to how class they are. But it's real class, it's what arsenal fans would say they do.. But infinitely better, quicker, more intricate and more devastating.

You are missing the point! Teams change on a seasonal basis. Even if they run a great record for a long time over a couple of seasons. Each year the team is slightly different. This Barca team, for this year (season) is the best team I have ever seen play football. They do it a a clip higher than others. Better than the Pele led 1970 squad if you ask me. But that said, I really don't like comparing distant era's.

In the mordern Era i.e. 1990's to date. None has been better!

Yes. As a team, indeed they are.

You can say the Spanish League is poor but they even smashed Real Madrid 5-0 who have the best manager in the world.

Football is just magnificent to watch, no one even compares to the pace of their play in terms of passing and moving. No team ever. I've seen full games of old sides and they are brilliant at winning but no team has ever dominated possesion, moved it so quick before, especially against teams who like to see 10 men behind the ball which wasn't the case to long ago from what I've seen.

Iniesta, Xavi, Messi, well they are 3 of the best 4 players on the planet. It's beautiful to see.

So is Messi who is undoubtedly one of the best ever.
